I have read the book and watched OaO as well as read the comments in here. I get the some viewers' comments on…
Like Shiyi was engaged to someone else, you had the useless emperor, the discarded one, the concubine who is scheming, the one that is sweet, the mother that only wants power, the mother that had to give up everything for the family... Etc. Every character had a depth, but so far I am not feeling the same in forever and ever.

I am honestly okay with how ZSC is and I understand it. But for me, it's the overall storytelling that seems lacking. In OaO, there were many characters with lots of relationships, the strong, the weak, the manipulative..etc. I would always look forward to the changes and how it involves all the characters. But here, there isnt much to look forward to in term of relationships, everything is kinda expected or not compliacted enough to give an interesting plotline. So it feels bland. Thats why I said that the acting was really good, but the plotline not so much.
I haven't read the novel so I am quite unsure about Forever and Ever. One and Only was sooo good, I loved everything about it, all the characters and the story telling. But I am a bit disappointed so far in this drama, it feels a lot more bland. Not as many interesting plots/characters, Shiyi and Chen are overly timid and nothing seems to be moving forward. The rest of the characters aren't interesting enough yet. I think the actors did a great job in portraying the characters, I just feel like the overall storytelling and plot just very lacking. So does anyone know if it will get better or will it stay like this?
This drama is so beautiful. It had such a beauty in it, in every scene. The acting was superb, and the storytelling was so good, I didnt feel bored for a second. The chemistry between all the cast was so well done. He deserved so much better. so so much better. The way he was killed was just so cruel, so so cruel. Dismemberment for 3 hours!! for the man that sacrificed everything for everyone who didnt deserve it. "Throughout my whole life, I have never let anyone down but Shiyi".... such a beautiful last words from a selfless man. And he stood there! Till the last minute asking people to just let him be! And no one was able to stand to him....till the last minute. He never lost a battle, until the very end he stood tall for everyone. As for her, she was as gentle as a breeze, yet so strong and smart. Her trust and loyalty, her ability to sacrifice. The scene where he was dying and she was equally in pain in bed was done so so so well. She captured the character perfectly. The way the emperor wasnt able to catch her before her fall, showing that till the last minute, he has always been too late and very unneeded. I loved how they never got married. Even till the last minute. The morally grey guard was such an interesting character. He was there, yet he wasnt. I wanted to hate him, yet wanted to thank him. He is just like a shadow, an existence with his own plans and own morals he would like to follow. Feels like you can write a whole spinoff on his character. I can write one for every character, from the useless emperor to the villainous one. From the maidservant that accompanied Shiyi for 10 years, to the general that beautifully ended the drama. This was how beautifully written each character was, and how beautifully executed this drama was. I am very glad there is a modern happier version and I cant wait to watch how they are going to spin all this into a happier ending. However, this drama can standalone as such a beautiful amazing drama. A big applause to all the cast and staff.
When the crown prince killed the eunuch and announced it to the guards, but the guards still pulled their swords. His expression was hilarious "He's already dead, who are you serving?"
Is this drama really worth watching? High ratings make me curious. Normally I don't watch romance dramas bcz I…
You need to watch it to see if its your cup of tea. For me, it was amazing. I loved both characters, loved the plot, loved their romance. I found them very mature and their journey felt very relatable even when I am way too far away from their lives or careers. The romance, when it starts, is witty funny and super sweet. Such a power couple. Would totally recommend
If people started thinking about the drama and actual characters more than they think about screentime of actors, maybe they will enjoy more Who care who gets more screentime? A drama isn't meant to have an equal screentime of all characters. The most important thing is the story I love how natural and realistic everything is written. And how they showed us his struggle truly through this time and how he is building himself. I think the annoying part is that we are watching it while being aired, so a lot count on every scene cuz they k they will have to wait till next week for the rest. But if you put that aside, the drama's flow is well balanced, focused on the lives of both characters. First part on the FL and her gaming challenge. And now it's the ML and his reintegration into the society he has learned to keep a way from, seeing himself from the lens of the society when he is with them.
Yeah i agree with you but I think for the game scenes It's still much much better than in "gank your heart", atleast…
Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't able to take it seriously in Fall into your Smile. It felt like they were just throwing in sentences and words to look like they are playing. But I don't remember feeling that in Gank your Heart. But again, I watched Cross Fire after Gank Your Heart so maybe that's what's affecting my judgement
I think this drama is really good, if you don't think of it as an e-sport drama. I have watched a couple of them, and this drama does a really bad job at explaining the game, getting you engagaed with them, or even develop a strategy/game script that keeps you engaged. Those gaming scenes (them actually playing the game) become confusing very fast and easily skippable (makes me feel that the scriptwriter probably never played a game before). This is such a pity though, cuz outside the actual game itself, the drama is pretty good. It has a high entertaining value and the plot isn't boring at all, it's an easy watch and highly enjoyable and all the characters are fun to watch. Even if some people aren't the best actor/actress, it doesn't affect the flow of the drama or general enjoyment. So I guess everyone should give it a chance and judge on their own. But if you are into games and expecting an entertaining/complex gaming competitions, then this isn't the drama for you. (Crossfire would be my recommendation)
Thank you for letting me know
This is so cruel! And all these people just stood and watched! And for what!? This is just too cruel :'(

Since the final episodes were released in China, I have been very cautious of spoilers, but now I wanna go back and read them all
