Wanning's story was so well put together and extremely well acted. At the start I didnt expect them to give any depth to her character, but the last episodes gave her so much justice

That doesn't matter. What she went through isn't a direct consequence of who she is as a person. She was sacrificed to save the empire. Also, so far we have no idea about the background of King cheng except that he wants to rebel. Also it makes sense for wanning to support the rebellion after how great yan treated her, and if her brother took her in, she would be loyal to him

Exactly! and also SYR loves to act like he was ultimately forced into everything with no choice. but seeing how he loves playing the victim so much till the last breath, I dont believe his storytelling at all.
Does Wanning deserve to pay for her crimes? She definitely does. Does she deserve sympathy for what she went through? DEFINITELY! That was such a terrible back story. Especially with how she was treated when she returned to her homeland

I agree!! The novel seems to be a lot more intense and way darker. But the way they have adapted it in the drama was very well-made as well 😍 but it's also very interesting reading the original plot, makes me understand the plot a lot better and the direction of the original author
