I think you are viewing just from a point of view. Working all the extra hours and overtime do no count ? In my…
Was he at work? Was that activation a work event? Why was he going off while on company time? To see a "crush ", not even a girlfriend. Being "just a designer", doesn't get him off his responsibilities. HE WAS PUT IN CHARGE OF THE EVENT, his manager delegated the responsibility to him, whether it was a set up or not, or did you forget that part.

Didn't I say there needed to be an investigation to confirm who dropped the ball? Did I not say , right from the start, that they wrote this scene for romantic lead expediency, and not an accurate portrayal of work life? Did I not say that my workbrain has a problem with this scene?

Just say you don't have a problem with what the character did because you like the lead actor, and go. ๐Ÿ˜’ no shame in that.

What kind of excuse are you making for him? He was at work, doing an activation. He left to chase his crush. You cannot excuse his behaviour because 1) it was "dark", 2) he was not on paid overtime 3) the hospital scene is very late 4) in France you have common core.

China is infamous for 9-9-6. 9 am until 9 pm, 6 days a week. China is not France. Why was he off during their working hours?

So what if it's late? Lateness didn't stop him noodle-ing with his crush!

Was this common core time? Was this a set time when workers can go off and do their personal business? Or was this actual work time, which he skived off of like a high school boy?

It seems that neither you nor misnomers can understand the reality of how the mistakes he made actually play out. Where on earth does someone leave their place of work , during working hours, not inform anyone where he's going, and then NOT pick the phone? Add to that the ethics of partying on company time?

Tha scene was unrealistic, and only served to push his characterisation as a romantic lead. It's just as bad as poorly done hospital/ surgery/ detective investigation scenes.

Idk after high school, rejection of a love confession isn't that serious and by all means never directly implies…
Infantilise? Wanting to draw a clear line in the sand to protect yourself from someone you barely know is infantilisation? Someone who has already been told that his love interest is not interested but insists on coming to stand outside her house?

She already told him she doesn't want a relationship. You can't turn around and okay the behaviour because as you say, "she literally likes him lmao".

That scene was poorly executed. Would have been less creepy and filled with engaging tension if he went to the hospital. Being in the same place with her ex and his new love interest adds more value to the story, like when he was jockeying with "uncle" to have her time.

How many cases have we seen in recent news of women being harmed for refusing a man's advances or even requests for a phone number? It's not illogical to want to protect yourself first.

The only purpose of the scene was to juxtapose him against her ex husband and the moment she discovers their budding relationship. On its own, that behaviour is nonsensical.

Let's stop romanticising bad behaviour. The only reason we can tolerate it is because it's a fictitious world, a romance genre... The same scene/episode with a thriller tag would have our edges standing because we know what's going to happen, and what will happen is closer to reality than a romance.

Even if the company is sued, the responsibility falls on one person's back. There is always a chain of command and responsibility, and his company should follow it in an investigation until they get to the point where the chain is broken. He effed up. My work brain is engaged in that scene instead of my romance brain, and he effed up.

She is not "a loved one". She is not his immediate family member. She is a crush. He left the job, didn't do a handover to assign responsibility to the person in charge when he went away, didn't tell anyone where he was going, refused to pick the calls, was away for so long, all the while, he was actually IN CHARGE of this project!! There's so many workplace breaches he committed here.

In the real world, he'd have sat through a discipline and grievance committee meeting, had everything minuted, and a termination letter issued. It's a drama, so they don't have the time to show allthat, and Chinese management practices look like shit to me so I bet they're not this thorough in real life, but fact is, dude was IRRESPONSIBLE!

If you're responsible for an event, do you use the excuse that "I've done enough overtime, so I am now justified in taking a break to go to the other side of town to see my crush"? Where's the sense of responsibility? Stay until the job is done, your crush will always be available for a meal. What he did was beyond irresponsible.

Theoretically, he could have seen the tragedy before it happened, if he was actually there to monitor the situation and stop the overcrowding.

If you tell man that you are not interested in a relationship atm, give your reasons, but then he shows up at your house! unannounced! As a woman, all my alarm bells are GOING OFF!! What does he want and am I safe?!๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ

He could have called/texted/ informed her /asked about her injury and asked if he can pull up. And he should have gone to hospital, not her house, if he was so concerned.

are the last eps way too bad? like is it bad between the couple? or their surroundings?
They're not terrible, but the flow is interrupted because they focus on last minute irrelevant issues. I read (probably from here) that Chinese companies negotiate more screen time for their actors, so XuKai's time reduced considerably as others with stronger management shone. It's tied up in a nice little bow at the end, but yeah, they didn't need to do that to the storyline. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I'd fire him without remorse if I knew he left the marketing activation to cavort with the love of his life...

Sheng Yang going to Director's home after she broke it off with him... that was mannerless, inappropriate and disrespectful of boundaries. I know it's a plot point of some sort to have the new love interest on standby after the pain she felt seeing them together, so he had to be positioned in the scene... If she'd gone to the hospital by taxi or designated driver they'd have achieved the same purpose of the scene: for her to learn of her friend and ex's "affair" and their money problems. He didn't need to be there plotwise, except to gain "romance credibility" juxtaposed against the "betrayers"

Isn't that "stain" we're talking about a shirt design? Am I looking at it from the wrong angle or lower resolution?๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

He's forcing himself, lol? If we could all be so lucky to have a caring guy like Sheng Yang bring us hot takeout…
I agree. I was annoyed with that scene. If i say I don't want to see you/don't want your food/ etc, I'm not playing hard to get, I'm saying my piece and my no is a no.

He kept on following her all the way to the bridge thingie and as a woman I was terrified thinking what could happen in real life in such a situation. Dude couldn't even read the room and see that she needs to be alone, if her husband is carrying off his stuff.

Of course they need the eager following male as a plot point, which I'll have to live with, but man, was I pissed!๐Ÿ˜‚

I sent them feedback on that; they need to sub everything.
Thanks for sending them feedback. Those gaps in the dialogue are so disruptive ๐Ÿฅฒ
