Also for Fourth, they also told us some scenes in episode 2 was actually heavier but fourth personally requested to adjust them to be a little less, so it’s plenty heavy for him. Be also described having a lot of issues going home from set depressed etc in the beginning because it was heavy :) he’s been praising the script a lot

A good place to start is Aofs Twitter, he rather detailed described when he made the story :) your opinion is ofc totally fine, I just wanted to correct the misinformation of who made the story and the actors thoughts on it. I’m aware not everyone follow all updates on geminifourth like I do, that’s why correcting :) it’s Aofs story and he put s lot of work in it travelling to Rome when making it etc

The novel author tweeted that the novel is based on p’aofs script, so that’s incorrect info. The script came first, then the novel ^^ and if you watched any of the be hind the scenes footage, you’d know born actors praised the script at lot, so the info you’re putting out simply isn’t accurate in that regard. I do think we’ve seen a lot of angst so far, it’s just panned out on several episodes whereas the concept trailer was a 3 minute preview showing the angst the various stages. But yea it is a story about hoping to love god and oneself — your true self — which makes sense given the writer is a Catholic gay himself and I guess some people wanted something more dark. A lot of fans already read the novel that came out so i guess fans of geminifourth was more aware of what the series’ core message was compared to people who maybe only saw the pilot a few years back

The writer is p aof himself. And the actors actually has shown a lot of love for the script — it’s fair you don’t like it, just correcting the assumption that the actors didn’t. They’ve praised it a lot and Gemini said it’s the best role he’s gotten to act to date. So they liked it which is also why I think their acting ffeels so natural in it. So at the very least don’t feel sorry for the actors because they’re very happyvwith it. I think many thought tth was gonna be dark and angsty whereas it’s plot line is religious guilt and a hopeful feel that love for god and love for yourself and coexist. P aof is a Catholic gay man after all so I never expected him to do otherwise

I think it might not be a series for you. I’ve seen some really stunning reviews from Catholic queer people and I think maybe if you don’t relate to the topic and guilt going on in the episodes, you don’t feel like the plot is moving, as intensely as a lot of chatolics with simile upbringings do. After all TTH is written as a sort of love letter to queer religious folks, like p aof himself as a Catholic, and it will solely focus on that. It’s meant to be hopeful and your faith and your true self can coexist, it’s not supposed to be a overly dramatic tragedy, that’s not what I would assume from it’s creators either. There are other stories that are more dark and less hopeful with this topic that you might like

Without spoiling anything, as someone who read the book and know where the story begins and end, it would’ve fitted well too as a 2 hour movie production, so a minimum of 6 hours series is good

Like “letting it breathe” I think, would’ve been a mistake to the core message. You’re not supposed to relax at any point, it’s intense and suffocating and we would’ve lost that if it had been much longer. 8 eps maybe had been okay, but 12 had definitely been too long, it’s even too long for a lot of ordinary bls where they put in several conflicts and lots of romance and stuff

The shows focus is about the religious guilt and conflict with one’s sexuality, not really feel good scenes for chemistry etc. 12 eps would’ve definitely dragged the plot out and lost focus on the core message of the show

In the book he also touches himself in the toilet, albeit it’s very vaguely described, like no details but you know it’s happening. And he prays and cries also. So you are correct, the series heavily suggest it. Key difference from book is he undresses and looks at himself and then it vaguely indicated he does it. The director wrote on twitter that by closing the door, the viewer can interpret themselves what lines tanrak cross or doesn’t cross in there, but no one but tanrak and god actually knows. I will note the translations for the book aren’t the best, so maybe it feels more described in Thai, in the book, but I looked at several translations and I’m pretty sure it’s very vague and just like a lot of his thoughts and desires. So no, if you pay attention you can see it’s friendly banter and he’s always the one laughing the most when fourth tries to kiss him - and there’s serval clips of when fourth doesn’t pay attention to Gemini, Gemini will put himself in his space to make him flirt with him. It’s not uncomfortable just because they’re boys who likes playing around :)

People are acting like they know him better, ignoring what gemini actually says. He says he’s comfortable and happy, he has no issue being intimate with male friends (other people than fourth too) and all their co workers say that gemini is the one instigating their small flirty fights because he finds it funny. People who are getting in his back are just wilfully ignoring what Gemini and everyone around them says, because they want to misunderstand and paint Gemini slightly homophobia which is far from true :)

It’s definitely a directive choice as Gemini and fourth is very comfortable with intimacy both in their other series but also other projects currently.. don’t know why the director is so hell bent on making “anime” kisses for a drama.. I think the kisses were okay and definitely didn’t look uncomfortable, but you can tell they’re told not to move around as they do just fine usually.. like watch any bts of this series or any Gemini fourth clip and you know they have great chemistry and enjoy acting as a pair, idk why they try to make the kisses so innocent (and there were movement but the camera purposefully choosing angles where it’s less visible is.. a choice)
