Ha ha - I agree. I like how he's out and proud but I wish Judah was more likeable as a character, and way less judgmental as well. I don't like how he spoke to Rocky when he was clearly going out of his comfort zone, doing things he's never done before and there was no empathy whatsoever. Urgh!
Warning: long post ahead. :)One thing that strikes me about this series is the difference in tone between the…
This is a very interesting review. I agree with everything you said about Tan and Oil and the contrast between their story and Sea and Tin story. However, I have a different view on It's character. To me, It is bullying Sea particularly. He even said "Newbie is mine" when his group started throwing things at Sea and his friend in the school corridor. And I don't think It is this way because he's homophobic. I think he is simply jealous of Sea. It seems to have always been somehow close to Tin and all of a sudden he sees this new boy taking all of Tin's attention and he doesn't like it. He even said he plans on having Sea expelled (probably so he can get away from Tin). It's jealousy is even more clear to me when he goes to Tin's condo and starts checking his closet, literally like a jealous boyfriend (I don't know any friend that would behave like that). But also the time he went to Tin's condo, at night, and starts asking why dinner has been set for 2 (again, like a jealous boyfriend). You can see he is hurt that Tin lied to him, and this probably means bad news for Sea... I'm worried for him in the next episode. I am not sure how the writers are going to write It's character development, and the relationship development with Voice, but I'm very curious to find out.
*rolls eyes* really? Itt is still butthurt over the whole room thing? Think about it, this guy is STILL pissed…
I understand where you're frustration is coming from because I really find it tiring, however I don't think he's "still pissed over a room". I think he's upset because he thinks that Pai lied to him about the reason he was helping him study. Itt thought Pai helped him so they could SHARE the room, but then he founds out that the agreement with the teacher was that Pai would get the room for exclusive use. Of course he never discussed anything with Pai, got angry by himself and turned into a bully, when we all know that Pai never had the intention to kick out the other guys nor prevent them from using the room. The problem is that he's never been given the opportunity to give any explanation... I understand why Itt would feel somehow betrayed however, like you said, it was a long time ago, they're at University now - Itt should grow up and move on already!
I also don't like Judah, but I wouldn't go that far. He could have been selfish but he chose to let Rocky have the quarantine pass. He provided emotional support when Rocky was missing his family and he's also been really supportive when Rocky lost his job: offered to help with his CV and also open his mind to alternative sources of revenue, which is how Rocky managed to earn some money to pay for his Dad's medicine. (Also one of the reasons Rocky started to realise / fully realised he was falling for him). Having said all that, I'm not saying I like Judah. I'm just saying he's not only whiny and needy, he has a couple of good sides. I'm also not a fan of the actor, but that's personal preference I guess.
