Loved every second of this movie. Definitely not for the faint hearted as the themes and all round story could cause some people to get lost.

Story - a breath of fresh air that slowly poisons you unknowingly. I ,along with many others , were tricked into thinking this was a light hearted movie about actors falling in love however that is very wrong! By the end I was biting my nails wondering if it was all an act or if it was real. I won’t spoil too much but if you’re looking for a roller coaster ride that decides to go backwards just when you think it’s over, this is for you.

Acting/cast - Wow. Park sung woong never fails to amaze me. I am not familiar with any of the other actors and actresses however they definitely performed amazingly, perfectly portraying every emotion to the tiniest detail. Both of the main leads did an unbelievably good job, really making you believe they’re in love despite being straight in real life.

Music - I can’t say much about the music as I was too focused on the acting and story to even realise there was any playing, oops!

Rewatch value - definitely worth rewatching. There is so much to break apart within this movie, it really got me thinking and invested just that little bit more.

Overall - Not for everyone but worth checking out anyway. Even if you’re not that interested the performance of the actors are enough to want to keep watching.

(This is my first review and it is very biased as I just love Park Sung Woong but I hope you can check our Method nonetheless and see for yourself what a gripping movie it is) :)

As a fan of Lee Min Ho I can say all his charms were perfectly squeezed together into the character Heo Joon Jae.

The story was interesting but as it progressed it felt unnecessarily long and drawn out. The whole “I’m a conman” was used to pick up the story whenever it got a bit slow so it soon lost all credibility and potential. In all this drama does a lot... too much. There are so many elements from different genres it looses itself and becomes your typical crime drama.

It upset me how the fact she’s (sorry I forgot her name haha!) a mermaid just gets forgotten by the end. It’s never really explored after the first half despite being one of the main plot points. The only reason it’s there is to add even more tragedy to Joon Jaes life which at that point is old news.

The OST isn’t that memorable but does it’s job by setting the tone, but sometimes it’s a bit distracting.

Despite all of that however, i always come back! This makes it sound terrible but I always put this on when I’m going to sleep. The whole tone and atmosphere is addicting added with the direction and cinematography that gives it the mystical vibe. The story as a whole was trying to achieve too much but what came out as a result is a refreshing drama that is entertaining to watch purely for entertainment. If you want a drama that you can dissect I really wouldn’t recommend this to you but it’s definitly worth a watch nonetheless.

To quickly summaries the way I feel about this drama all I can say is.... I have rewatched this an unhealthy amount of times.

I specifically remeber getting into Asian dramas and seeing “Pinnochio” as a new series. It first caught my eye due to the otherworldly sort of cover because I thought it was a fantasy drama, which I hadn’t watched any of at the time. So I decided to give it a try and forgot everything I thought about it beforehand within the first few minutes.

From the first episode until the last you never know what’s going to be thrown at you and no matter what it is you’ll keep watching. The frustrating parts will fuel you to finish the series, and the warmhearted parts will hold you in place, reminding you of the good things within all the choas.

A “quick” note on the actors. Of course five years later I am now familiar with nearly every actor and actress in this drama however when I first watched Pinnochio that was not the case at all. Now I’ve watched so many other shows with each actor/actress I can say, each and everyone of them are just amazing. Lee Jong suk is great at every role he plays, it’s like he has a sixth sense for great roles. His character Dal Pol is very complex and gets pulled and pushed around in every conflict but he still powers through it. Every emotion is perfectly reflected in his eyes, body language and facial expression. The love for his “dad” and restrained love for his “niece” as well as his heartbreak when he finally connects with his brother are all so well done. I could list a hundred scenes that just blew me away but that’ll take a while. Each actor/actress bounced off of each other perfectly, creating great conflicts, humorous pairs and great family dynamics. Each character is unique and are driven by different things which the actors/actresses do very good to make clear.

In all honestly I can’t remember the OST at all but that’s because it’s been a while since my last rewatch and most of the time the music falls on deaf ears haha! Beside goblin and School 2015: Who Are You I cant remember any songs from anything I’ve watched so my opinion on the music will stay neutral :)

Overwall, this is an absolute classic and a must watch. I dont think it’s suitable for new kdrama fans as it’ll probably become boring to some however it is definitely crazy to not give it a go at some point!

It’s crazy how little I’ve seen about this drama! We are only a few episodes in but it’s already one of my favourites I’ve check out recently. If you’re having doubts due to the boring synopsis, please just ignore it and give it a watch.

I can’t say much about anything since it’s still way to early to say for certain but the story is very good at drawing you in! All the actors do a great job at playing their respective roles and make it clear there is many layers to their characters, just like any other person.

Now for those of you who place great importance in the soundtrack, I’m sorry but I’m the wrong person for that ascept of dramas! Unless the music completely blows me away I won’t even realise there is any music at all so hopefully that gives you a guideline for that haha. That’s also why my rating is 5, neutral. Please decide for yourself whether the OST is any good and to you’re liking :)

Gave 5 stars (neutral, 50-50) for rewatch value since it has not yet finished so don’t take my review too seriously just due to that fact we aren’t even half way in yet!! So far the most disappointing thing is the slow subbing but it’s all worth the wait in the end and I hope you’ll think so too :)

(all low or exaggerated ratings are due to limited released episodes, as of now there are only 4 fulled subbed available. Pleased don’t let my ratings dictate the watch value of this show and check it out yourself in order to accumulate your own opinions on this highly underrated drama!)
