I'm not usually into high school dramas (I'm way too old for them) but I have watched both seasons of original…
HYD was my first drama ever and still holds a special place in my heart. Still think that they didn't focus on the social criticism that the manga has, but even so is very well done. Japan could have done a remake, kind of aged a lot, it's funny see the phones of 2005 and I never find an episode with actual good quality, it's all pixels.
I think with your review I finally understand what was annoying me about this show. While I was watching I kept thinking "I should be loving! Why am I not loving this?!". I still think is one of the best written LGBT shows I've seen, but damn, I was frustrated and for some reason tired. I am gay, but honest, I never have much trouble accepting myself, maybe was because of this, that I couldn't relate to Teh, and his terrible decisions.I tought that the episodes were long and find overwall very depressing. And you are right about the ugly crying. Even so, I still find it very well made. So a lot of contradict feelings, like my comment itself. Anyway great review. I'm not even sure if what I said made any sense. This show made me confused.
After watching this episode I feel like the retelling of the Tin&Can story makes ZERO sense. I like their retold…
Well I don't know if you readed the books. TinCan has relevance in the end of the first book and the beggining of the second. They kind of just desapear after the main conflit with Tin's brother is finished. So their history is not that long. The whole thing with Pete going abroad is in the last two chapters of the last book. The autor should just created more history if she wanted a full series with them as mains, or just made a special.
Am I the only one that think that ALL characters dress in a way kind of similar? Too much similar! Clothes are one of the ways to show personality, but seems like everyone is shopping in the same store. I don't know maybe is just me and my rainbow based wardrobe.
I genuinely appreciate how serious it is. Almost all bls I watch tend to have really bad comedy timing. It's good to see something more dramatic for a change.
I really hope they try to follow the manga Hana Yori Dango, instead of the others adaptations, but I already know that will not be the case. But I can dream right?
I love the fact that they are using family dinamics that in most kdramas the female lead have, and instead giving it to the male lead. It's refreshing in a weird way.
Nah the male leads are never perfect. They have flaws, it can be a trauma, personality, etc. But I did understand…
Yeah, is the point I was trying to make. But to be a little honest unlike most people generely is the male main lead that annoys me. Maybe because that way the female is writing to be performing that role of lack of sense.
There is one thing that annoys me a lot. It's when the male main lead is perfect in every aspect. He is in extremely smart, work in a high position in a big company even though he is young, speak all the foreign languages, is handsome, rich and always won the silly fights ( generally in haters to love kind of drama). Why would I root for him, he doesn't need the support. And the female main lead is stupid, takes terrible decisions, had strugle to graduate, is jobless an doesn't have a single nocion of style. I don't know if it's just me, but makes me roll my eyes every time.
Thank you for this. I haven’t watched the show but was looking to do so, and glad I found this review. I had…
Hey, how are you? This one doesn't really show much of homophobia, but is full of abusive relationship and especially sexism. I think there is only one femine character that is not crazy and she appers for one or two episodes. It's absolute unrealistic that's for sure. But maybe you should give it a shot to see if you like. I always think that it is ok to watch and even like (until some point) problematic things as long you know that those things are problematic. See you.
What can I say? I'm a basic person, I like simple things.
