I wandered into this with no research/expectations, and it delivered. From the acting, music, cinematography & importantly the story. Most of the characters are realistically flawed, but you feel for quite a few of them.

I had to re-watch bits to answer questions, but ended up watching parts of it again. Now knowing what I do...the answers were literally there in plain sight. But due to info over-load & a well written story, you're directed elsewhere. It can get confusing when they switch back 20yrs. As long as you mark the 7ppl who'll be pivotal (from 20yrs ago), it'll make sense. Loved it👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.

Ep 12. Wow they packed it in! I had question marks over certain characters, but the delivery was still hard to take. I gasped at 3 points... & that never happens. Very bitter-sweet & kinda heart-wrenching on what could've been😢.

Questions on 'Justice' & the diff versions we accept. Mr Song said ' Justice served late was not justice'. However, his actions & what he said while he lay dying, was he 'envied' Maj Wei. His friend's death & the ppl he wanted justice from were out of his own reach. Questions of how circumstances, the ppl you encounter & your own morality can chain event into acts that can never be undone, with collateral effects. A quality production, with great acting from all, particularly the young Lu Zhi...
