Just adorable
Okay so I don’t like crude humour, so I dropped this show in episode 1, only to pick it up again and grow to love it.The plot is light, fast paced, humorous and romantic. This drama is the ultimate antidote to a stressful and hectic life. It has a great heart, excellent character acting, and is actually deeply romantic. It is one of the most comforting and reliable dramas I’ve seen.
While I love all of the characters, Ma Tan with his Mr Darcy type persona was my favourite and his love line was very sweet. I’m at episode 10 so ?I just hope that he gets the girl because she’s amazing too. Looking for a warm-hearted hug of a drama? Look no further, this one’s for you.

Loved it, and I’ll miss my weekly dose of these adorable idiots
I really enjoyed this drama. Yes, there are cliches. Yes, there are some issues with plot and logic here and there. But not enough to detract from the hilarious moments, the sweetness and the spectacular chemistry between the leads. I really loved their relationship. Will this drama deepen your philosophical understanding of the universe? Probably not. If you are looking for cognitive enhancement and to ponder deep themes and archetypes, this is not the drama for you. But it doesn’t pretend to be what it’s not.
Will it deliver on what it promises— joyful and (mostly) relaxing viewing? Absolutely. The writing is pretty good, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is the drama for when you want to escape the stressors of life and enjoy something both light and earnest, a combination that often falls flat, but does not do so here.
For what it is, it’s a 10/10.

Yes to everything
This drama was an absolute breath of fresh air. A female lead who is comfortable in herself, not a martyr, and who is open, honest and kind. A male lead who is adorable and who shows growth. Secondary characters who you actually care about. Excellent acting across the board. Plenty of laugh out loud funny moments, and don't even get me started of the genius which is the FLs facial expressions. No unnecessary filler, and even the product placements made me laugh. I am really going to miss being part of the fun.Was this review helpful to you?
Love this so, so much
This is possibly my favourite drama of all time.Luckily I had a Mandarin speaker in my house to translate the final part to better understand the ending— this is a drama that will take weeks to recover from.
There was no filler; no weak, self conscious acting; and I even loved the effects as they seemed like children’s book illustrations and fit the mood. In short, for me there were none of the usual interruptions that push you out of the world that has been created. If you want to make me cry, just play me the opening song and watch me melt into a snotty mess on the floor.
For the ultimate, unequivocal show down between good and evil; for the most worthy couple; for side characters that get enough vibrancy to live on in your mind, rather than just existing to move the plot; this drama is the one.

Your patience will be rewarded
Okay, so I wasn't even hooked on this until 7 or 8 episodes in. The leads weren't that appealing to me at the outset, and while the plot moved at a cracking pace, I wasn't fully bought into the world.Until I was.
And I got obsessed.
The leads show AMAZING growth, the kind that's really rare in modern fiction of any kind, so just be patient if they are not quite your thing early on. Both of them are actually excellent actors and they will show you their artistic range and remarkable connection if you just get past the more mono-tonal first quarter and into the deeper parts of the story. The emotional connection between the characters seems to resonate with the actors themselves (watch some BTS if you don't believe me).
The story itself is lively, twisty and worthy, epic and free of the fetters of filler.
I never got bored when the focus of the plot shifted to the side characters because there were many rich, complex characters with unique motivations and perspectives. I was genuinely invested in a far greater range of characters' wellbeing than is normal for me. There was not a moment that I was bored, or could look away.
The art was beautiful (give me a cloud whale!) and the music sublime, and never overly intrusive.
Rong Hao was a deliciously complex villain played by an always masterful actor whose work I have loved elsewhere.
The comedy was perfectly timed, the romance deeply believable, the action sequences gorgeous.
I am going to rewatch this drama for the rest of my life. My new favourite Cdrama of all time.

Honestly adored this
I took my time starting this as I’m not a Carat, and I often drop high school dramas once one or both leads becomes intolerable.Imagine my surprise when I discovered this light-hearted, hilarious gem that perfectly matches my sense of humour and preferred stress and misunderstanding levels (low). The usual one dimensional side characters had their own depth and quirks, and the leads nailed the brief. Everything from the funny music to the breaking the 4th wall moments were great. The writing is way above what I usually see in similar shows. I never thought a teacher character would be one of my favourites.
Even though it’s been a little while since I finished this, one of my housemates is watching it for the first time right now and he’s laughing his head off, so it reminded me to write this review. Honestly, it’s not perfect but close enough; it certainly deserves way more than the 8.4 it’s currently on.
