Did the writer of this script not check who was cast as the Emperor. For goodness sake he has to be 10 yrs older than the FL (what is she supposed to be 18 to 21) and yet the FL supposedly helped him out of a locked room when he was a timid little boy - in the screen shot she is leading the boy out of the room and they are the same height and age......,.,.quite an oversight in believability, this is shaping up to be nothing like the calibre of LBF & D. Cannot relate to the FL unfortunately either.
I don't know if I can see this through to the end. The reporter sister as a character is a drunk, annoying, sanctimonious frump. She really gives me the shits. I am on episode 4 with 8 more to go ........
Watching this for the third time knowing that I shall yet again cry buckets. I love the historical dramas and this one is the very best that I have seen. It is achingly beautiful. A close second was Empress Ki. I also cannot wait until Jun Ho's next project "King The Land" rumoured to be scheduled for March 2023.
Firstly this is an excellent drama however I have missed out on much of the dialogue due to the sh..ty subs via Mango TV. Also the pixilating of certain scenes is not only ludicrous its annoying too. For goodness sake we have seen such scenes before and we are adults are we not....... Can anyone advise if the pixilating transpires in the WeTv subbed scenes. I would pay to rewatch the series if those annoying pixilating episodes do not exist on WeTv. Appreciate any replies. Thanks in advance.
What a little gem fantastic I am loving it. I want to see Ryan Cheng in a full blown 40 episode historical drama. He looks very handsome in period costume. AND directed by ZQJ this current director. How great is the relationship portrayed so far no juvenile stupid breakups - an actual adult relationship I am pleasantly surprised. Saw him in My Husky Boyfriend he also looks good in modern dress. The ladies in this drama are also very appealing - no silly baby voices..... 10 out of 10 for me.
I just watched this drama for a second time and have to say it was worth it. I had missed so much in the first round - particularly the subtleties of the relationship between the FL and ML. I must admit even though I have watched this twice I still did not see any intimacy between the Concubine and the ML, is it just me or was the direction of the drama just too subtle in this regard. I know that realistically there should have been intimacy yet she never fell pregnant. My next revisitation is Empress Ki. Have also just re-watched The Red Sleeve. I love the epic romantic dramas.
Watched this twice and going in for a third time. Loved the drama especially Jun Ho who is is just so attractive in historical costume. Hope that he is recast in a similar role in the future, his looks aside the acting by all concerned was superb. LSY portrayed her character flawlessly. The chemistry between the leads was electric. A drama well worth viewing.
I like the realism of this drama. The odd thing about most C dramas is that the men are usually the ones who cheat, have mistresses, children out of wedlock etc, and that is acceptable I find the C censorship bizarre in this regard. The censor has no issues with guys going to brothels, guys cheating violence towards woman BUT the kiss has to be a fish kiss with the female displaying her googly eyes. Thus, this T Drama was a nice change. The only other C drama where realistic kiss scenes were shown and desire was on display (as far as I can remember) was My Little Happiness. Oh as a last comment there is nothing worse in this world than to be married to a man you do not love. The intimacy in such a relationship is the pits!
