But you gave the movie "Air Doll" a perfect score. So ...
There is a serious difference in quality between the film AirDoll and the series Blank. If you think the reason I gave such a low rating to the series is because of its sexual content, you are wrong. The script of the series is terrible, and apart from Faye, the acting is really bad. AirDoll actually tries to convey something meaningful and is far beyond being just a "perverted" film filled with sexual content. If you see a masterpiece in this series or if you have given it a high rating, I cannot take your opinions on series and films seriously. How can you even compare a film like AirDoll with an average series like Blank ?
There’s no need to write a long review about the show; the script was probably written while the writer was high. There's only one reason I finished the series, and that's Faye. It's nothing but pure nonsense. 1.5/10
Of course, it wasn't as good as the first season, but after almost three years, I expected a more successful season. Saying this doesn’t mean that this season was terrible — it’s a good season and manages to keep you watching. I liked Si Eun’s new group of friends, especially Ko Hyeon Tak, who became my favorite. I also enjoyed the scenes with Seo Jun Tae; honestly, no one in this series is straight, xd. Especially the part where he lifts him onto his shoulders and the expressions he makes after putting him down, and when he touches his cheek — I liked all of that. I know you probably won’t agree with what I'm about to say, but I got bored when I saw Lee Jun Young in the show. He’s a really good actor and played the villain role very well, but the problem is that he's literally in every drama I watch. I watched the Mandarin drama — he was there. I watched the Melo movie — he was there too. Then I realized that he's in every popular show. The problem is that I see him too much, and that’s why I was actually happy he didn’t appear as much this season as I had feared. Since I haven't read the manga, I don't know the original ending, but from what I’ve read in the comments, they changed the story quite a lot — the whole Donald storyline, etc. Si Eun is in much deeper pain compared to the first season, and he expresses it through his eyes. Park Ji Hoon is such a good actor. Even when he wants to smile, he can’t fully do it, because he’s sure he doesn’t deserve it, and he carries an overwhelming sense of guilt. Su Ho waking up right at the very end of the season was a terrible decision. There are so many flaws in this season, I don't even know where to start. It felt like they just threw us a spoonful of honey by saying, "Here, he's awake now," and left it at that. Anyway. 8/10. 8 might actually be a bit too generous for this season, but whatever.
The first hour was amazing to watch. Fandy Fan has a wonderful smile, and it was really enjoyable to see him on screen. The character he played suited him very well. Terrance Lau also has a nice smile, and he portrayed the depressive mood beautifully. However, I got frustrated during the last forty minutes because it felt like the plot suddenly turned into one of those Korean dramas, where everything goes back to childhood. Actually, from the very first scene, it was obvious we were going to get that cliché of "they knew each other as kids," but oh well, the movie wasn't just about that cliché, of course. Zhong Yi Xiang’s death and the reason for it were also quite absurd. The first hour especially Gu Tian Yu slowly letting himself fall for him was really well done. In classic Asian BLs, there’s always an accidental kiss scene, and yes, that happened here too, but what can we do. I wish we had seen more of their intimate moments, but the writer decided to kill one of them off instead. Isn't there a single queer film with a happy ending? Anyway, because of the last 40 minutes, I gave it an 8.5 instead of a 10. Still, you'll enjoy the first hour, so I recommend watching it! I also really loved the Leslie Cheung references, they were such a nice touch.
Whatever it is between them, it's too precious to be experienced easily. But eventually, "that" thing had to happen to one of them..anyway, Siwan is a great actor 10/10
