I know right, antis really messed up with her life, this is disgusting. I really hope she is ok, all my positive wishes to her, how sad would be if the most popular chinese drama and chinese novel in the world had its author imprisoned for “selling erotic novels for young people”. Urgh I hope Chinese government would actually protect their talent.
Because of extreme violent scenes, some toxic relations, also the authorities at the time were trying to push contemporary dramas on tv. So The Wolf was really unlucky. Joy of Life and The Longest day in Chang’an also were made to tv but never got approved and became webdramas instead.
There is a solid rumor that she is imprisoned in China for selling the novels illegally. She was already under authorities radar when she was writing HOB (thats why HOB does not have any lemon). That could be the reason she never released the fourth novel. People say the rumor is not true, but the fact is that she really disappeared, she never even posted to say “I’m not in prison”. So it’s hard to not believe this.
The Wolf wanted to run on tv and chinese censors didn’t want that drama on tv, it got rejected many times, a lot of things got cut so the version we got is quite butchered. In the end they just aired online to not lose the money, because China is even more strict with what runs on TV than with webdramas. But I don’t think Immortality will go through the same path. It’s just Tencent way to air dramas in a moment they will make more profit and also to not put two hight budget dramas competing for audience. Soon or later we will have Immortality and I strongly believe we will have it this year.
Maybe if you are unfamiliar with east asian writing culture, don't throw the word plagiarism around and instead…
Agree, even the first book, the “philosopher stone” is actually inspired by the chinese immortality elixir made of cinnabar stone, that many emperors took to become immortals but died instead because they basically drank mercury. JK made an awesome story kudos but people should educate themselves before pointing fingers thinking every fantasy book plagiarizes HP when actually HP have little that is not plagiarized from other cultures.
You have to keep watching. That analogy was not intended for those researchers, but ML asked that as analogy to…
I agree, even if he is talking about himself, the two things are hardly comparable. The researcher didn't have a gun pointed to her head, she had a choice, she lived a bad life, like many around the world, but she had a good position already and didn't have to do this. His comparison was stupid, like you can't judge people because you can be under coercion one day? What kind of comparison is that?
I love this drama but I can't help hating the fact that in foreign country scenes where everyone is talking in…
I just use my imagination and think everybody is speaking english that moment. In my country there is a chinese company where my friend works, he says the chinese workers speak chinese all the time, even when they are not among only themselves, its up to him to learn it. Other times they will speak a mix of chinese and english and thats it. Its not from another world, I think it's like Marvel movies when the whole universe speaks english lol it does not bother me a bit, I'm well used to it.
Transmigration and time travel is banned because a woman got crazy after watching Scarlet Heart and killed herself…
Crazy right?! Also palace dramas are banned too after Story of Yanxi Palace showcased too luxury lifestyle and feudalism culture. I'm convinced that China bans anything that gets too popular lol
