Well. He is kind hearted deep down. It's just the job he is doing that has made him like that. He is trying to help other but also want to to stay away from doing them so that doesn't gets attach to them.

I think that too. Vincenzo still was getting attach to her father but then that white truck of doom came from no where. I think he'll take revenge. Let's just hope her father doesn't dies.
