This is the best drama I have seen in a long time. It's very engaging almost from the first minute. In each episode you get to know a little more about the mystery surrounding a kidnapping 20 years ago through the stories of witnesses whom the journalist is meeting. The acting is so good, and it's a shame a lot of these people have mostly played in subpar drama with over the top japanese humor. I really didn't know how good actors they were until I watched them here.

The drama is only 5 episodes long, so there's hardly any boring parts. The background music is amazing. It's so well done and fits the drama and the mood perfectly. I am really looking forward to the OST being released.

Anyway, this is seriously a must-watch. Best japanese drama in a very very long time.

This drama is really underrated. I happened to come across it by accident and decided to watch an episode, and then I got hooked. The drama was really good from the get-go. There's several good characters and actors in the show. The stories are quite compelling - there's always something happening. Also, the show is episodic in nature, but the cases are connected in some shape or form.

If you liked shows like Trick, Tokyo Dogs, Mr. Brain, then you will like this. The production value is not as high, but the stories and the acting are quite good.

This was anticlimactic. You are dragged through cliffhanger after cliffhanger only to find the real reason behind "that" incident 10 years ago was something absolutely idiotic. Then there is the issue of all the foreshadowing and plot twists that turn into nothing. When you finish this story you will think back on all the twists and turns of this story and see how irrelevant they were. This drama should have been a 5 episode mini series, everything over 5 episodes for a garbage story like this is filler.

The reason I am giving it 5 stars is because the acting was good, and it was quite suspenseful for the first 6-7 episodes. It's just that the remaining 3 episodes absolutely ruined the whole experience for me.

I loved the first season, liked the second and I feel indifferent to this season. The stories are just not as good as they used to be. They lack the subtlety and human touch they used to have. You can really feel the creators are running out of ideas.

The new characters this season aren't as interesting as those in prior seasons either.

For me, this is the biggest disappointment not only this season, but in years. When I heard about who would star in Ouroboros I was really happy. There were enough big names to make this one a real classic, instead we got horrendous storytelling and waste of real acting talent.

Here are some of my complaints:

*The flashbacks. They added absolutely nothing to the story, and the horrendous background music that played every time a flashback appeared made them unbearable to watch. There were also way too many flashbacks, and they didn't make me care about their sensei at all.

*Nothing really happened the first 4-5 episodes. The drama could have been halved without any effect on the storyline whatsoever.

*The acting was subpar. You'd think with all the talented actors they had you'd get some amazing performances, but no. Every single character was unlikable or just plain boring, the acting was very very over the top and shounen manga like. Just last year Oguri Shun had one of his best performances ever in Borders and now in Ouroboros he seemed like he didn't even care about acting. The acting was so so mediocre, bordering on bad.

*The general story. I feel like the story went nowhere. For the first half of the drama the two brothers were just chasing a villain of the week without getting any closer to solving the mystery. When we finally get closer to the truth everything gets brushed aside like it didn't matter. Everything happened so quickly in the end, and it just couldn't engage me at all.

This was a massive, massive disappointment. Oguri Shun, Ikuta Touma, and Ueno Juri are just too talented to be wasted on a garbage show like this.

Boring

It started out good the first 1-2 episodes and then devolved into the same boring patterns of thoughts and dialogues about romantic relationships. Nothing really exciting happened between episode 3 and 9, just going around in circles, same boring conversations, same boring thoughts from the main characters.

It also turned gradually out that everyone in the story knew each other at some level and the coincidences were too many for the story not to be annoying.

I recommend you only watch the first two episodes and episode 10 because everything in between is filler.

Utter trash

This show is from the bottom of the j-drama cesspool. The acting is comically bad. It's like they picked a couple of random people on the street and asked them to be in a low budget cop movie. Every expression is over exaggerated. The dialogues must have been improvised on the spot. The policemen carry a gun but refuse to use it because it goes against their moral values as japanese cops. Every episode has a character with a sad backstory. Every episode has a storyline made up of cliche after cliche. A major incident happens but then it turns out it was only a dream or a fake video posted online.

I want the 10 hours I wasted watching this dreck back.
