I'm afraid to watch because of the synopsis above, "BenXJim follows the story of two people who turn from strangers, to friends, to lovers and back to strangers with memories. " Back to strangers means they don't make it. I like this couple and hope they are able to stay together.
Stop giving this a bad rating because it's sad. Ken and Shake are still together, so it's not really sad. History…
People are giving bad ratings because they feel emotionally manipulated and are upset by these old fashioned tropes. There are many people who do not believe in an afterlife, so to them these two young men are in a jar or in the ground. The people who don't want them together don't believe they are together in heaven, they will say that's what they get for being gay. If they didn't sin, the wouldn't have died. That's what they said when AIDS was killing people.
I'm not a gay man, so I'm not speaking for them, but this is yet another instance of where the gay person feels they have to consider everyone else's feelings above their own. Even in death Ken has to worry about his mom, who is partly responsible for the accident. Even in death Shake has to get trashed. Ken, just leave with Shake. Sandee can take care of your mom. If she learned from this, she wouldn't be drinking, she would be thinking about educating other parents.
I believe that everybody is entitled to their own story. It seems like everyone wants to write Karl's story, but…
I don't think that viewers are considering the timeline and that they only got together after Vlad ran back to the apartment. In fact in the beginning of the episode, it is Vlad, who keeps stating that it's their last day. They are young men who need to work on this between them. It's their relationship and they are should make the decisions.
I'm ooooooooold so I remember a time when you did not declare yourself an ally, the community declared you an ally. I remember the first time a gay man referred to me as so and so's f** h@g and I had not heard that gay slang before and it had to be explained to me. Since I'm old, I don't call my self out as an ally, but I am a proud parent of an LGBT child, so I think that I feel maternal toward these characters.
Has anyone read the manga who can comment on how accurately the drama is following it? What I love about this…
Only 2 volumes have been released in English and I haven't tried to get Japanese raws, but so far, the show is following it well and no non-con so far. I would classify it as shonen-ai up to Vol 2.
The last episode just ruined it for me. I hated the way the brother-sister duo ganged up on Karl, like give him…
I believe that everybody is entitled to their own story. It seems like everyone wants to write Karl's story, but it belongs to Karl alone. An 18-19 year old just accepted his feelings and came out to somebody he has feelings for approx. 3 days ago. Just because Karl doesn't fit the narrative, doesn't mean he is wrong. Vlad was hurt, but equating Karl's hesitance to accusing Vlad of committing a crime was a pressure tactic as well. Karl cares which is why he got jealous, stole the phone number off of Vlad's phone and called the number. I hope he switches majors, lives on his own so that he can work things out with Vlad with just the two of them in charge.
Unless something completely out of left field happens in the final episode, I’ll remain frustrated at this series.…
Me too or that the gay partner runs away so that the other partner can live a heterosexual life. I liked this series because the guys weren't overly handsome, they didn't show ripped abs, they are just guys who meet in school, just like real life.
Now that I let my emotions de-escalate, Karl has been out to Vlad for literally a weekend. In real life, I would tell all of them to stop butting in and give it time. They just met a month ago. I guess the mom in me thinks that isn't long enough to be pressured by Judit, and I'm giving Vlad a pass because he is hurt from a similar situation. Everyone's coming out experience is a personal journey. I'm just going to ride out the last episode and accept it.

It's possible they lied because when the History 3 MODC actors were doing press for Make our Days Count, the actors said that the series was nostalgic and satisfying. Then the character, Gu Yu Xi is killed. That character is similar to Shake, where they just didn't seem to get a break until they fell in love, but then that was snatched too. I keep hoping this is one of Ken's plays, but who knows. At this point, I'm going to wait until the last episode is spoiled. don't want to watch a final episode that is half recap and half 2 women having a pity party for themselves.
My mother always said if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. Well then. All I…
I had a feeling when I noticed that Ken and Shake were wearing the same clothes, but Sandee wasn't emotional under the tree after contributing to her friend's death. Since the mother only took her husband's ashes, I had hope. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to stop watching because I'm tired of dead gays and family regret when it's too late. Sandee may believe she is reuniting them in her head, but there is no proof of an afterlife. I was hoping this was Ken's play, but guess not.
So i read the manga. Personally i am not a fan of the manga. I just feel it doesnt really have good pacing/flow.…
I actually love the manga. While I think they are doing a fantastic job adapting this to live action, the live action does not capture the cute blushes that appear on Adachi's face when he learns things about Kurosawa. I also think the manga is better at portraying the interaction between Tsuga and the delivery worker. In my opinion, the first impressions are better explained in the manga even though it's only an extra.
I'm from the US (and gay) and I started watch BL's because my husband passed away in February and BL's were a…
My condolences for the loss of your husband. I hope that My Extraordinary doesn't have them reunite in the spirit realm just to redeem Sandee and Mom. I think that Shake deserves a break in life, especially since he now has Ken. By the way, Make Our Days Count resulted in so much outrage that they are now making the alternate ending. It's on MDL already. Also, thed are very briefly shown with both of them alive alive in a Japanese BL called Senjou Bokura. I think that you should wait until History 4 comes out, then watch MODC1, right before MODC2. My favorite BL so far this year is 30sai made Dotei dato Mahotsukai ni Narerurashii (Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!). It's about working adults and has supernatural and comedic moments.
