My Love Mix-up GMMTV version was okay, but lacked the spark of the manga and the JBL. I thought that after Moonlight Chicken that Gemini and Fourth would be given more mature material, but this wasn't it. I would like to see Gemini be from a poor family and Fourth be a trouble maker. If they are going to adapt another Japanese manga, maybe get the Chinzilla gang together and adapt Given.
I like Pah and Pie and wish they got more screen time other than making mistakes, and eating.
It would also be nice to see Tae outside of his relationship with Bamhee. I'm not sure we will get more of Jane and Ryan, since we only have 2 episodes left. I hope that GMMTV casts Off in more serious roles in the future. He was great in this.
This is an ensemble cast so offgun aren't the only main characters. It's more abt all the trainees but I think…
Unfortunately the English title is not a plural, leading me to believe that Ryan is the protagonist. In my biased opinion, Pie has not gotten her fair share of screen time in this ensemble, and besides Jane, she is my favorite character. We only have 2 more episodes to go. I'm glad that you and many others are enjoying this series, I just feel a bit misled by the marketing.
I'm actually starting to think that Off and Gun are product placements in this series like Lactasoy and Oishi drinks. The are definitely not the main couple in this series. I love the character of Jane and Off's acting so much that I will just FF through the main couple. I love Pie, I wish they could find her a partner, male or female.
Whenever Ai has a dream about Yu, he has a major head injury, but when Ai gets hurt instead, it is a much milder injury. I hope we learn more about this once Wan is out of the picture.
I like the show and story but this love triangle super irritating 😅 i really which they focus on dream instead…
Normally I hate love triangles and study abroad, but with show, I kind of understand why it's there. Yu had been dating Panpan a long time and didn't even tell the younger guys that they broke up. Ai may like Yu, especially after seeing him almost die several times, but for all he knows, Yu is into women. Yu has to overcome the little brother relationship, so I think the love triangle is being used for both Ai and Yu to realize they may have feelings the other. I agree the mail leads are great.
Unpopular opinion - Rather than edit it so that someone dies at the end or they find out they are biological brothers (what was proposed for Advance Bravely), I would rather it be lost media. I'm sad though.
After a rewatch, I am definitely on the list of those who want to see the Doctor and Jin Bao in a spin-off series.…
I second this, but they have to be careful with the casting of the child actors. I'm reading the novel right now and this author likes coercion and bullying.
I have to respectfully disagree with those fans as I think Only Boo is the best GMMTV show of 2024, much better…
I appreciate that you are stating what Thai fans are saying because most of the time, we international viewers don't know what the Thai fans are thinking. I just preferred Only Boo, even though I thought it would be not that great.
I didn't notice this while watching Pit Babe, but Sailub has a lot of sex appeal. I don't always pay close attention to sex scenes, but I could not take my eyes off of him. I hope to see Pon and Sailub again as the main couple in a series. Sad to have to say goodbye until PIt Babe 2.
I love that most of the people who are watching The Trainee agree that it's the best production from GMMTV this…
I have to respectfully disagree with those fans as I think Only Boo is the best GMMTV show of 2024, much better than this show, with a much lower budget and new actors. I do love how Off is portraying Jane. He is usually overshadowed by Gun, but Off is the shining star of this series. My gripe is, Off and Gun are the second couple in this series, instead of the main couple and Judy-Bamhee are the main couple.
I agree with your take on Judy and Bamhee and honestly, if she and Tae broke up so she could study abroad, that would be one of the few times I would like that plot device.
... guys, what is this series actually about? I simply can't see any action that would give meaning to this whole…
I love this series and feel like each episode is only 5 minutes long. Full disclosure, I love odd couples and slice of life, so this series falls right into both for me. The point is, the characters are not supposed to be the perfect couple from the outside, but where it counts, they fit. Takara is used to being judged by his looks and the only person he feels real affection from is his grandfather. Taishin comes from a loving family and is very outspoken for a Japanese man. While Takara has to stuff his feelings, Taishin is like a fountain. Taishin isn't the handsomest man in town, at least he understands Takara in a way that not many people do. I loved how Taishin carefully planned their date, down to making a program and bringing hot sauce on the date for Takara. In contrast, Takara uses the program to cover his face when laying on the blanket, but Taishin doesn't have a hissy fit, he continues looking for the blue bird. When Taishin loses his wallet and it is returned, Takara comforts him, and helps him re-evaluate his feelings about being a total failure. But that's just my. biased opinion.
I am too far into this show to turn back now, but the lost wallet scene was such a waste of time. Taishin is beyond…
Having lost a wallet in Tokyo, I can relate to his situation. My wallet was found and returned to me, and I could feel Taishin's sense of being a total failure on a thoughtful and carefully planned date with Takara, and how sweetly Takara comforted him. Just because Taishin grew up some place, doesn't mean he knows how to hike. I know people who grew up in Hawaii who hate the beach and do not know how to surf - or swim. Hopefully this series will get better for you, but I really like it so far.
I don't think any of you are thinking about what you're saying. I understand that this show isn't everyone's cup…
Actually, Konishi looks more like the manga character of Taishin than Iwase as Takara. He is doing an excellent job with his portrayal of Taishin. What the naysayers are missing is how Takara and Taishin have a lot of similarities. While focused on creepy and ugly, they are missing the beauty and nuances of this budding relationship. Both actors are doing a great job bringing their characters to life. I agree with you about the beauty shaming that would not be tolerated under other circumstances.
Okay, that's it for me. Not reading the comments here anymore. Way too many negative comments that are actively…
Don't let them chase you away. You can tell by most of the comments that they don't understand nuance and that BL manga is a very diverse genre. I love this series, I've read the manga and think that it's very well done.
I loved episode 8. Taishin is quirky, but so is Takara. If Takara was not a handsome, cool, prince, he would be thought of as odd duck with his glass and marble collection. I thought it was super endearing that Taishin made a program for their date, but didn't get angry when Takara laid on the blanket and used it to cover his face.
I can relate to the wallet situation because I lost my wallet in Shinjuku Tokyo, one of the busiest places on earth. I was rushing to the post office when I dropped it. I backtracked and saw a man holding it, probably to turn it in. Thankfully my driver's license was inside (normally I leave it in my hotel) and I showed him to confirm the wallet belonged to me. That Takara was not irritated by the whole situation, made me so happy.
