i've already given up on this show having any romantic scenes, they should change the genre from romance to family…
Romance is not about kissing and always getting intimate.
For me....they have great chemistry without always having intimate scenes.

I grew up in a worse environment (. I was not allow to do anything. My dad was soo strict. I also live in the USA ( "1st generation "). I fought with them soo much. Didn't make a damn difference. It didn't help my siblings cause 'issues ". At that point...it was such a waste of time to fight and tiring. We have a better relationship and understanding now. I understand their old ways and how they grew up....i disagree and hold no fault to them. I seek to understand. Vice versa.
Here the mom caused he issues and he is trying to no repeat it in her.
Grandpa issues is with his daughter .....he needs to resolve that...
In the asian culture you have to respect the elder....Pam is a doormat. She grew up in fear that she'll be abandoned....although she may not agree with his ways....but she knows it is because he loves her.
Also she never had to challenge her beliefs or need to challenge her grandpa until now...about her mom and the ML
As for in this serie....it because they love and care for him.....
