Dealing with it face to face and not avoid it.
1 size don't fit all and we all deal with things differently.
Keep it...throw it away is their personal decision....
But to not avoid....and learn good coping methods.
I recommend everyone has counseling....no matter how "stable" you think you are. That was the encouraged recommendations my prof. For counseling and method told all of the students

I just finish good detectives. It was good.....but i had a hard time with certain human aspects/ behaviors ecen being in my field. I'm less opem/leniet when it comes to malice killing...like majority of humans who isn't a physchopath....hahaha...certain police work was soo dumb....but it had heart...i cried a few times hahaha

I disagree. Many ppl who have amicable break up. Many who move on can still have items. You still experienced it.
