I assume the answer to my question is yes. They do support their own even if he becomes a demon. So their treatment of Yuanzhou has less to do with his demonic nature and more to do with them needing an easy target to vent out their anger.

Yichen would've executed Yuanzhou on the spot, if he could. That's exactly what he tried.
But where did that judgemental tone come from? If you're Yichen's fan and my words offended you, you can simply say so. No need to try and judge my intellect. Respectfully, it's not your place to.

Which blind justice? I don't understand the meaning of your question. Do you mean I'm confusing Yichen's compromise with blind justice?
Or do you mean that I need blind justice? I don't need characters to be absolutely just to like them.

So we go full circle that his being bad at putting his emotions to words is selective, aka his hurtful words to Yuanzhou were intentional. It's more like [return to the shore and a bright sunlight is waiting for you. But there are exceptions.] It loses its value.

As I said, after episode 16, the [killed his family] card is no longer acceptable for me. He's choosing to blame him at this point.

So he'll understand only after circumstances force him to. Like a rich person only understanding after becoming poor. Where's the value in that?
I'm curious. Will the rest of the group treat the demon Yichen like a monster too? Or will he have their full support, like being a demon is suddenly a good thing? Because if so, that will nullify what you said about their treatment of Yuanzhou being partly because he's a demon.

I don't care about the rest of this drama's world. They can be bullies with mob mentality like the supporting characters in Untamed. But these are our leads and it's been 20 episodes. I think by now I'm supposed to root for them, not have to bend my morals to bear with their hypocrisy and managing their grief by blaming and harming the easiest target.

That sounds messed up. Did he do something? Like betraying them or anything? My bet is the malicious energy used his body to hurt someone again. But I'm not asking for details because I don't want to be spoiled too much.

I assume you mean Yichen (kindly correct me if I'm wrong). Is Yichen only bad at speaking his emotions with Yuanzhou? Because what he said to Baijiu was pretty nice and poetic. He didn't seem to have trouble then.

So they can forgive Baijiu in a few minutes, because it's Yuanzhou who was poisoned, not their family or friend. Yet they blame Yuanzhou for not being able to stop the force of the world's negative energy from using his body and killing strangers. Why the double standards?

He also lost his family and friend. They witnessed how he absolutely couldn't do anything about it. Saw how he begged them to kill him. They have no excuse anymore. It's sort of victim blaming at this point. And it's disturbing because it's starting to feel like they willingly let him continue to blame himself and feel like his life is worth less.

Finished 20. And there's no sign of improvement. Back then Yuanzhou was also grieving his teacher and everyone treated him like a monster. Now they forgave Baijiu pretty easily. Even though what he did was intentional. He didn't even look Yuanzhou's way while apologizing. Nor did any of them, like the main victim was invisible. It looked like he wronged the whole group and that's why he's sorry, not because he put Yuanzhou's life in grave danger.
Yichen's speech was touching, but it sounded kind of hypocritical, when it's been several episodes and they still haven't even acknowledged to Yuanzhou that it was in fact, not his fault and he's also the victim. Where were these pretty words when Yuanzhou broke down and showed vulnerability, yet Yichen accused him of seeking pity?

This drama looks and sounds gorgeous, but the way male lead is treated is disturbing. It's not enough to bear the weight and torture of people's hatred and malice, he also has to put up with their hurtful words, every time he's given a break.
