Shin Hye Sun did really good but the storytelling wasn’t it. It started as great but went downhill during episode 4/5 cause everything was getting so confusing. So many questions left unanswered... who was the man who's skeleton was found? Why Sarah Kim despite being such a big name, there was no cctv footage? Why Sarah Kim doesnt have any information about her, not even DNA or finger print?Where did she come from? The ending was not satisfying at all.
Sadly I think the biggest weakness of the script (or cut out due to ep limit) was they didn't explore Ming Yi's…
I agree with you,so many people got frustrated with Mingyi and her lies, why isn’t she communicating....but I think its because of the flaw in her story writing! They really didnt explore her past trauma which made her the way she is and took a huge part in her decision making. As a result people just saw half the story and started to blame her. I really wished they didn’t delete the scenes with JBZ realising why she was so traumatised about her mother or obsessed with scallion pancakes as they all related to her traumas.
Shanbao never prioritizing Lu Zianglai and always toying around with him was annoying. That guy was always with her, through thick and thin, ready to do anything for her.....and she didn’t even have a proper confession to him when he did multiple times! Her cold personality never warming up towards him made this relationship insufferable.
And that grandmother 🤦🏻♀️never seen an elderly character who is supposed to be so wise being so dumb and selfish! She is so proud of herself and her Rong heritage.... But never understood any of her granddaughters, not a single one. Not Shanbao, not Yunxi not Yunshu...none! She only kept blabbering about her past, her pride, her family tradition...but never tried to solve the inner conflicts among the girls, misunderstood them and put them into situations where they had to take the wrong step. How was she the main lady of the house with this kind of personality????
The ml didn’t even know who is she or anything about her lossing power...he was just taking care of her out…
Yeah i get where you are coming from. Tbh,i have also dropped my fare share of drama's for the same mysogynistic trope after getting annoyed af.But for some reason this one caught my attention cause maybe they didn’t make her overall weak who always needs male leads attention or help to save her. She was brave and enough for herself. Yeah,it still had some of those cliche annoying tropes, ngl. Its okay if it wasn’t the one you liked lol. Lets end it here, seems like none of us can convince each other.Happy watching ✌🏼
The ml didn’t even know who is she or anything about her lossing power...he was just taking care of her out…
If thats how you interpreted the drama, there's nothing can be done about that. But in reality,MingYi is not some weak damsel in distress. She is a warrior who still protected others even when she was powerless. I doubt if she wasn’t poisoned, it wouldn’t be that easy for JiBozai to defeat her in the tournament. Both of them were powerful and fought side by side proudly.
its an okay drama, nothing extraordinary. but the fact that its another story of a powerful fl losing her powers…
The ml didn’t even know who is she or anything about her lossing power...he was just taking care of her out of his own kindness.... She is not someone who needs care or help..she's far more powerful than that. She bravely fought even when she was poisoned every time ml,her friend or anyone was in danger even if her life was at stake. This not some mere "weak fl taken care of by strong ml" kinda story lol.
People complaining about MingYi lying... which is valid, but you really need to think deep to understand why she keeps lying. 1. Lying is her defence mechanism as she has been abused since her childhood and had to live a life disguised as a prince.
2. She is conflicted cause JBZ loves her as he thinks she is not after GMD (he has always been betrayed, backstabbed by people,MingYi is the only one he ever trusted) and if she tells the truth now,he will be shattered.
3. She knows if she asks him,he will give the GMD without even asking her the reason but that would be him betraying his shifu. She would never want that.
Ming Yi is not a liar by choice. She is conflicted, afraid of loosing the only person that ever loved her. Its a shame the story writing didn’t portray all these more explicitly and people kept blaming her.
If you dropped it on epi 5... the real story didn’t even start by then 😭 Also, you may not like the drama, its completely okay, but why insult others who actually loved it? People can have different taste, some likes fluffy cutesy romance, some dont, its okay.It may not be your genre or taste, which is normal. But saying who liked it are low iq is quite insulting....just saying 😊
Why did writers make situ ling's character one dimensional? He had great parallel with ji bozai. They both had…
You're so right about the parallels between Situ ling and JBZ. Both had traumatic past, both had enough reason to be a villain. Even though I was annoyed af for whatever Situ Ling was doing towards the end cause of his obsessive annoying personality... I guess the writers wanted us to show the difference between them. While Situ Ling couldn’t control himself and became the annoying villain ultimately, JBZ remained true to himself, kind and passionate, never let his past trauma shape his personality. This is where Situ Ling lost and JBZ won.
Exactly 💯 HY was treated as a sinner. He had to atone for 10000 years by serving the demon clan. Atp XY never…
In the end it seemed like the whole thing was the result of Xiao Yao's obsession over human Hong Ye. The end result could be much better if after 10,000 years of punishments(which makes no sense honestly),Hong Ye sealed only the mirror and lived happily without any guilt cause logically, human or demon, none of them would stop looking for yuli spring anyway, even after his sacrifice.
One thing I didn’t find logical... Why human prince Hong Ye had to be killed for his sins when everything he did was to save his people from the demons? Demons were torturing.killing the humans.... And he didn’t cause any harm to the demon, only searched for yuli spring so that he could protect the human kind. If killing his human version wasn’t enough,he's been made into a demon king for atoning for his sins and he did for 5000 years....what sin exactly? Weren’t the demons doing way worse things? And even after that he didn’t get his happy ending.... This thing doesn’t make sense!!
Not understanding why its getting the low rating.Yes maybe the ending wasn’t satisfying for everyone, but overall its not THAT bad to get such low rating! It can easily stand between 8.2-8.4!
Call me wrong but i really didn't like the male character, i mean ming yi is tooooo good for him, she was selfless…
My goodness.... Imagine you pouring your heart out to your loved one's,telling them you trust them, ready to accept anything they decide......and the next thing they do is steal your most precious possession, when you believed that person would never be like that.. How would your reaction would be??? Ji Bozai did exactly that. Not saying MingYi was entirely right or wrong, she had her own reasons for doing that....but see it from JBZ's pov! This guy did everything he could to help Mingyi, even when he was suspicious about her, he never abandoned her, helped her to save her friend, saved her from Mu Qibai. In later episodes,he even broke up with her to protect her from the wrath of their realms.... He was ready to sacrifice himself so that she can live peacefully .He gave Mingyi her space, instead of pushing her,he waited for her to tell the truth. Golden Millet Dream was something JBZ protecting with his own life...the moment he realised Mingyi's truth,he immediately gave her that without asking a single question or blaming her for anything. He was a broken soul who trusted MingYi with his everything. Blaming him for something he never did sounds kinda childish ngl. Also the saving each other part, one thing that made me love LITC was how much both male and female leads were strong enough to protect each other and their loved one's even when they were not in their best condition. They never had to depend solely on each other. MingYi as a warrior princess was strong enough to protect herself even though she was ill and weak. And JBZ also protected her like a shield even when he realised she's not a weak fairy as he thought . Say whatever you want but as a couple Ming-Zai is exemplary and JBZ as a character is unforgettable.
I am finding this intriguing but the FL is very childish I prefer strong FL’s still trying to make it through…
Ummm maybe because i've seen some actual annoyingly childish fl in some other dramas.... MingYi was far from childish for me. She was really cunning, smart, observant who knows how to gain ZBZ's attention....and she actually succeeds in her plan lol. Don't worry, she is not a typical fl...she is strong and mature who knows how to save her loved ones and still be adorable. Her being cute just adds to her strength and attractiveness.
I tried so hard to drag myself through the first 2 episodes, why are yall saying its a must watch???? I honestly…
Well this drama is highly based on teenage innocence, friendship, family ties, life struggles of parents and children etc and everything is portrayed in an extreme accurate way. Many people could actually relate to the neighbourhood the characters live in the show and the lifestyle of the 80’s- early 90’s. Its innocent yet realistic way of showing life what made people attracted to the show. Its a very nostalgic show. Its okay if you don’t find it worth watching, but its really one of the greatest kdrama ever made 😊
hahaha that's me tho 🤣 is this good?? but i watcjed so many comments that this might have a sad ending 🥲
Well I don’t wanna spoil much .... But it has a bittersweet ending if you watch it with the special episode.... But you will definitely fall in love with the characters and their bonding!!!This is one of HMH's best show, that's for sure, him as ZYZ, the great demon is *chef's kiss*
I’m dropping this drama here at episode 17. There are a lot of things I didn’t like about it, but honestly…
Hey... If you want to watch a fun drama( since you’re going through a hard time).. You can watch I am Nobody,in case you haven’t watch it yet.Its lighthearted and really fun to watch... And if you've already watched it,I hope you find something worthy to give you some relief from your hard times 😊
