I think you kind of misunderstood the scene after Mingyi being tortured... Cant blame you,people has actually reduced it into just a hot romantic scene for that kiss. JBZ never initiated anything, neither did Mingyi. She was completely under spell,trying to find some warmth since that spell made her inner childhood trauma more significant. JBZ was completely confused who was she talking to,was it him or MingXian. He kept his composure and kept asking her calmly until he was sure it is him she has been confessing over and over again and only after that he initiated.There was a deleted scene before that where er shiqi told him why MingYi was so traumatised of her mom,he even used Buxiu's dragon scale to treat her. It was not only a romantic scene, it was supposed to be an emotional base of the beginning of their actual relationship if all the scenes and stuffs were not deleted. This drama had 4epi worth contents deleted.... So yeah,lots of contexts were gone with that.

Yeah that pavillion kiss too...there were also other conversations between jbz and mingyi where jbz confronts her about mingxian and gets angry what kind of man is mingxian who cant even protect his own girl lol

There was a whole part before that hot bath scene where er shiqi told jbz about mingyi's traumatizing childhood,how her mother used to lock her up in the room always,how she used to love the smell of pancakes from the kitchen but could never eat cause she was always locked up,thats why she loved scallion pancakes,how she had to disguise herself as mingxian....jbz got to know her childhood,understood everything, he even used buxiu's dragon scale to treat her. This whole conversation was deleted.

FoF is probably one of the very few drama's where each and every osts are excellently written,composed and performed! So easy on ear,so dreamy,so beautiful. Return after a long dream and Yuanzhou's youth remain unbeaten till now.... I was expecting something like this from VoS too,they're good ngl...but FoF ost's are still on the top!!!

They underplayed her trauma so badly...ofc she can't tell him the truth cause she has lived her whole life in lies,in disguise. She is traumatised, lying is like her coping mechanism. Beside her love for JBZ and his trust towards her....both of their traumas played a big role in the story. But the director never showed her story properly.

Unfortunately, it seems like he did. It was like he tried to create the same emotional journey like FoF. But to me,VoS became a mess cause of very complex story writing and repetition of the same thing over and over again. Also couldn’t avoid the feeling of him copying FoF after watching certain scenes.

I will always blame the director for deleting such crucial scenes regarding MingYi's trauma which was one of the main reasons behind her lying and never gathering courage for telling JBZ the truth. Girl has literally been trapped her whole life.....and they deleted those precious informations which is causing so much hate towards her.

Hou Minghao was probably one of the best thing in FoF,him as Zhao Yuanzhou is once in a lifetime performance. His portrayal of that 34000 years old demon who has seen and experienced things,gone through a lot,hid himself in wilderness for thousands of years cause of his guilt,sadness,depression...but still a man of integrity,always protecting the others,always hiding his pain behind that naughty smile and flirty behaviour.... HMH was living as the Great Demon,he showed all the emotions with perfection!

After watching VoS...so many thoughts came to mind...did the director ran out of idea that he took so many things from his own drama,FoF? One word spell and also so many shots were used frame by frame, like in FoF Yichen getting humiliated by people and ZYZ rescuing him..and in VoS, Ji Ling getting humiliated and Wang Shiguang rescuing him....I'm probably missing some, but it was evident he really took FoF as inspiration!

Its a "scratching head with an extreme confused look" level drama....even in epi 16, everything and everyone is confusing as hell...even the characters! Like who is who???? And why??????

I too loved FoF. But also can't deny that drama tested my patience towards the end.If it wasn’t for Zhao Yuanzhou, i'd have dropped it long ago. However, let me watch few more episodes,maybe than i can decide.

I just don't trust this director, he seems to always rely on gorgeous aesthetics and beautiful faces to hide the weak making of the drama. That's why i was thinking if its a waste of time again.

I've started it yesterday.... And already feeling like its another empty vessel beautiful only from outside! Does it get better later or only carried by gorgeous actor/resses and cinematography like FoF??

Enjoyed a kdrama like this after such a long time...Kdrama's has lost its touch lately,its the same repeatative stories with some pretty faces.... But this one was shining on its own.

As far as I've heard this director has a reputation for pulling such stunts on his works...all good looking actors,beautiful aesthetics and cinematography and in the end nothing matters cause every character either dead or in miserable state. FoF taught me the lesson to never trust his works lol.

I just hope it doesn’t turn into another Fangs of Fortune where after such a majestic show and performance....every main character dies 😶
