That’s possible 😊 and maybe it’s just a translation with the poor choice of words. I would say something like “please be by his side and support him as a friend” instead of “protect him emotionally” 😂

He certainly could be a secretly trained bodyguard - your theory might be just right 😉 My confusion is rather about his psychology diploma at his ripe age of 18 😂 You know, to protect Nueng emotionally 😊
I really like the series so far, the only “Ha?” moment for me was when mom dumped a whole lot of responsibility for her son on a boy her son’s age. Like, I am in my 40s, and I’m not sure how to “take care of him emotionally”. How? 🤷♀️ Besides, as an heir to that huge business, Nueng needs to learn to discern trustworthy people from scammers. He can’t do it if he’s shielded all the time. And again, how can a boy his age even from a tougher background be his bodyguard and his shrink? With constant threats to their lives, I would have Palm live with them as Nueng’s companion, put them both into a homeschooling program and have actual bodyguards around. Of course, then we wouldn’t have our second couple - but we could have bodyguards instead (we know the drill) 😂
He’s adorably goofy and kinky - something dramas usually shy away from. I’m glad they are exploring it with his character, and they are making it really funny ☺️
Army seems to be super comfortable with Alex 😉 I’m waiting to see how their relationship went from hazing to besties who casually roll on a bed with smooches on a cheek and wherever Army can reach 😂
Also, I don’t quite understand the rage of Nim. Is it still about a drunk kiss ten years ago or is there more than that? I mean, it seems pretty stupid to me to be that salty over something that innocent that happened that long ago. To me, if my bf went for a kiss with another person - I would be mad at my bf, not at that other drunk person. And given that everyone was dead drunk and/or high, I would let it slide after milking the situation to my heart’s content 😈 But that’s just me 😉

Yes, fake dating wouldn’t be Dew’s highest point, but I think she offered it herself to pacify his family and he just grasped the opportunity (which he really shouldn’t have done) because he’s too stressed about it.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words 😊 We all go through our experiences and learn from them. I think we need to listen to ourselves more as we know best what we need. For example, for me - in my 40+ years, it was never an option to fall for a guy who never showed any interest in me as I am too logical and consider one-sided pining a waste of time. So I would mark him off my “hunting list” and wish myself happy hunting next time - plenty of fish in the sea! 😻 But lots of people are more emotional and need external help to get distracted. And both are fine - whatever works for each person 😉

I understand your point about gay boys falling in love with straight guys, and it definitely sucks. I think, though, that any unrequited love is painful. Even if Dew was straight it doesn’t mean he would ever get interested in Mint, while he could fall in love with some other girl. To me, feelings are either there, or not. And there’s nothing you can do about it for both parties. Whether the person who confesses to you is from the general group you are sexually attracted to, or not - if you don’t love them, they need to move on. It’s nobody’s fault. Mint’s problem (in my opinion) is that she didn’t extract herself from the situation. If she knows it’s extremely hard for her to move on while being friends with Dew, she should do whatever it takes to avoid him: move away or just stop interacting with him, having explained to him that it’s not his fault but she needs space.
As for the scene on the staircase where she denies that Dew might be gay - I think he’s told her about his sexual orientation and they are in agreement to cover it up by fake dating. That’s just my theory based on Mint’s facial expressions during that scene. Of course, I might be wrong - we’ll see 😊
But I do like your theory about the reverse trope 👍
What is it with the writers loving the trope of a girl with no self respect? Who would actually go on for years, declaring their everlasting love to a man who is clearly not interested in them and he’s being very clear and upfront about his disinterest, too? I have never met any woman like that in my life. But I guess there’s an abundance of them in soap operas 😂
Also, if I had a friend who is obsessed with me for years, I would cut them off and out of my life for their own good. Otherwise, they obviously can’t move on.
Loving it so far! Not gonna lie though Joey, Aun, and Mint are all pissing me off 😡How many times does someone…
I might be wrong, but it looks like in Dew’s world Dew and Mint are dating. She asked him to date her and he finally agreed. I bet it’s to cover up that he’s gay to indulge his family (which is a separate can of worms). Because they are officially dating but idiot Mint is posting self-pity messages on Outstagram, Aun and Joey are losing their shit since they believe Dew is hurting Mint as a bad boyfriend.
In Mum’s world, they are not dating and still are just friends.
Honestly, when your friend is obsessed with you for years, I think it’s best to cut them off for good. It would allow them to actually move on.
I don’t understand - An wants his father to accept his boyfriend because Bai Lang lost his family. Soooo, he wants Bai Lang to get an abusive SOB as a father now??? Why???
Yeah, yeah, I get “different cultures” sentiment. So due to my different culture, I would fight back right away, and tell the old fart that I hope he has enough money for a good nursing home. Then I would be on my way to my wonderful life, interesting work and loving boyfriend.
Honestly, I thought An donated his kidney to his ex, that’s why he didn’t want to tell Bai Lang. I didn’t even think about this abusive parent thing since An is a grown adult with his own business. Oh well, silly me… 🤦♀️
It's a ploy to brainwash Alex from exposing Army making out with Joe at the party.
Yes, I’m pretty sure they had a good reason to shut Alex up - with both of them being jocks and ladies’ men on the outside… 😉 But seriously, how nice it would be if people could be open about their relationships without being judged! In this respect, I appreciate some “gayverse” series where it’s perfectly normal for a guy to introduce his boyfriend to his friends and everyone goes “oh, hi! Nice meeting you!” 😻

Yes, I had to rewind and take another look - it was so fast 😂 It looked like Joe initiated the kiss (or a tight hug) with Army before they noticed Alex. Did I get it right? I was really judging by Army’s jacket. So it might as well be anyone if the writer wanted to confuse us 😂
They're just trying to tell the story from the POV of a sasaeng so we kinda understand where she's coming fromIts…
I understand the show just provides a character’s POV, and it’s fine, that’s what the character is for 😉 I would dislike it, though, if in the last episode they all benevolently forgive Kanoon while she keeps her stalking act. There are “fans” like that irl, and they endanger the very celebrities they claim they love so much. So I am actually grateful to the show for depicting a character like that, and in my opinion, it would be great to have a realistic resolution to the situation. So we’ll see.
When Kanoon claims she’s stalking Mai and Copter because she loves them so much - what a bunch of crap! That’s not love, that’s obsession, and not healthy at that. She needs a restraining order, not her friend’s forgiveness. And she admits that she’s doing terrible things, and still keeps doing them? She should see a specialist at this point, and Namwah should stay the hell away from this psycho. 🤦♀️
Actually, as drunk as he was, I don’t think Alex managed to lose his virginity to anyone. The fact that Joe and Army told him that he’s no longer a virgin doesn’t mean anything. They could say whatever they wanted.
I didn’t read the novel, so does someone know what Win was referring to when he said he was afraid to lose his loved one like he’s lost before (or something along those lines)? What happened to him? Thank you 😊
