yeah, how dare her dad be dying and the lives of everyone she loves is on the line, how dare she be traumatized…
it was a good scene. thanks for bringing that up actually. acting was great in there. I’d usually cry in scenes like that but oddly, I felt next to nothing. i WISH I was more invested in their romance. still waiting for that one scene to take me into a chokehold.

ah yes, personal preference is coming into play here. I think I should say I like actors who can showcase a bit more range. she’s good at crying, but dare I say there can sometimes be too much of a good thing.

all good reasons to cry as a character. but as a drama, as a female lead, it gets real repetitive. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a drama where the FL cries in EVERY EPISODE. she isnt showcasing much range when she does this and the camera pans to her for a looooong time for EACH cry scene.
Ep 11 - cried about her dad multiple times in multiple scenes - outside city, bedside and cliff side. Then cried when searching through Madam Ge’s belongings.
Ep 10 - cried when she reunited with ML, cried at the steps before their scene
Ep 9 - cried when she sees her uncle again
Ep 8 - cried when she THINKS about going back home
Ep 7 - cried several times in her little skit
Ep 6 - cried on her swing when Jiu comforts her about her dad
Ep 5 - cried when she felt guilty for putting lil emperor in danger, cried whilst telling Jiu about her “dream”
not bad so far, currently on ep 11. i think the reason why it’s not amazing for me is because there’s just too much talking. I just don’t prefer this type of storytelling when it comes to dramas, I’d rather them show me. I lose interest when side characters are going off on their monologues describing why something happened or what they’re about to do.
this is my first drama with CDL as lead. I had my doubts but she’s holding her own so far. but how many times does the camera need to zoom in on her teary face. 🥲 ML is handsome in here! def a very stoic character. their chemistry is THERE but there’s just not enough screen time with just the two of them, ty to the aforementioned monologues sucking up most of the screen time 😒I just wish there was a bit more of them so I can feel like I have more of an investment in their relationship.
There were a few leaks but the production is very strict. You can search for it on twitter, rednote or weibo
that’s kinda why I was confused. I thought LLTG and snowstorm were idol dramas. but I guess now I’m understanding that the same actor can do idol or…non-idol dramas? and if it’s non-idol then production team can be more secretive. 🤷♀️
rewatching queen of tears. despite all that transpired, he really is a great actor. not many can hold a candle to his executions, microexpressions, line deliveries sigh. the industry lost a real talent. I’m sad for everyone involved.
I’m reeeeeally not here to place blame or support one side vs the other. just here as a regular drama watcher who enjoys good talent onscreen. 😩
I am here to confess something. So when this aired , i also didn't like this drama at all because how second half…
starting my first rewatch. I think I remember the second half sucking too. Will probably watch first half and skim the rest. stuff comes back to me as I watch. I really think the bad guy, not the mom, reeeeeeally deserved a redemption arc. I remember what happened to him.
and wow, the micro expressions from the leads are excellent. lip quivering and all. I’ve already cried so many times and still on episode 6.
