If you forget ep16, it becomes a great drama.

It was inevitable considering the build up of the story and the 1st ep. The three of them had to be in a Love triangle.

I am curious to see how it will unfold considering HJP is also the "brother" of NDS. Will they be able to make him a rival and also a good brother and a good mentor or will things turn really sour. I surely hope HJP won't become bad or pathetic. I hope this will be a way for him to open himself to others, be less selfish and find a family for himself.

I can see where NDS and SDM are heading to, but HJP, it is quite unclear.

For the moment, I really ship NDS with SDM but I can't help thinking that their romance is the kind to... not last.

The drama is also youth oriented, dealing with their dreams, ambitions, growth... I really don't see how it will happen but an non romantic, time jump, open ending like in Dream High would not surprise me even if they are around 30.

HJP wrote the letters with grandma and he is doing all this again for Grandma. For him it is either way. Because he does not care SDM is angry or not against him. But as he slowly falls for her he will see that it can really be prejudiciable to him and his feelings. It does not matter. SDM already likes NDS. She will be sad to learn the truth especially towards her grandma but she will get over it. She is down to earth and blunt and not really a romantic. So... It will be ok.

You are harsh on HJP. Considering his whole story from orphanage, I think he is not so bad. Could have ended a much worse guy. Granted he is selfish but he has a good heart deep inside and he is fun.

The bromance can be seen as fake because it is embeded in the global lie to deceive SDM but I still like his reactions twowards NDS like when he asks him "What am I gonna do with you?". It looks natural. I am sure when they put this all scheme behind, they can still be real brothers.

What feelings again? He never had feelings to start with. This is why he called these letters "stupid letters". But Yes, i can undersand he never really cared for them but seeing how gorgeous and smart she has become he has crush on her. But that's two different things.

In his youth HJP already had a dark side. He used grandma account without telling her. He accepted to be in a scheme with her to lie to SDM. He could just have said "OK, grandma, if she has no friend then I will be her friend and write to her by myself to comfort her". But he just agreed to do it to repay her kindness to not be indebted. Also he was hot tempered and yelled at grandma. He always was indivudualistic and selfish. As a grown up man, I think it helped him to become successful but giving him a cold and ruthless side. I don't think he hates the Three Stooges from Samsan tech or look down on them. He has the attitude he deems necessary. He is friendly and helpful to them but his priority is his interest and his success rate. This is why he talks harsh to them.

I don't think he is a jerk. For a successful man I find him quite fair, cool and even funny with a clumsy side.

OMG, 2020 and they are still writing these kind of dumb female lead and tsundere male character? I endured it until ep 20 but can't satnd it anymore. I am struggling so much no sure I can go to the end of it.

At the time of Netflix and Covid-19, as far as I know, pre production is the rule for high production kdramas as live shooting are too risky. The drama could be halted in the middle of broadcasting. The main cast and director of Start-up only reunited again on October 12, 2020 for a conference to present the drama and talk about their reasons and experiences when filming the drama and their opinion about it .

I am very curious to know where your source come from. Anyway, it doesn't change that your dream can come true.

Yes because the first ep also focuses on the SML and the ML only enters the picture later. No because they are not competitors... (yet)

Maybe it will end like Dream High. My understanding is in Dream High no one gets the girl.

I understand the drama is pre produced. It is the case now for most kdrama particulary the ones which will need to respect a distribution plan with platforms like Netflix. They were spotted filming last May and June. The main leads started the promotion for the launch in October but the drama is already finished product.

Let's just make our bet now!

Some great actors like Tom Cruise, Joaquim Phoenix, Russell Crowe... have never been in any acting academy so I don't take this credential as a proof of talent. I don't despise Leon Lai as an actor. I just state an opinion about him: that he is not expressive enough to be the ML and for me he is not the right choice for this project because his chemistry with Bai Lu is off.

Of course I do also blame the writer as chemistry depends on writing of the interactions between the characters.

You can say it is because of Bai Lu. Certainly she has her share of responsibility but overall she is talented and recognized. You have to acknowledge that.

Let's meet each other halfway . These two have nothing to do together on this drama.

You are certainly right in a sense that my way of enjoying the drama is not necessarily the way others should enjoy it. I like to stick at what is shown and told to make my undertanding and live to the fullest the story which is told to me.

Despite I like to say it is the way to enjoy the dramas, I totally respect the way others do it. They can imagine that HJP fell in love with her in the middle of the street or in the letters. That his dog died so he bought a cat who got lost forever so he bought a red fish and told everything to Dal Mi. They can understand that when HJP says "we made him up"! It means "He is me!". Or when he says " we wrote these letters together" it means "I alone wrote them from the bottom of my heart". As long as it makes them happy.

Probably I cannot read between the lines or I can't take the hints this is why I can't understand that HJP forgetting her name is because he is too much in Love with her but his brain has memory lapses . Thanks you for taking the time to advise me. I will remember it.

I have seen Leon Lai in Legend of Fuyao only. I thought he was pretty good and I was expecting a lot from this pairing. On the stills it looked ok. But in the drama... He has no chemistry with her. Not only they have same the facial features and a bland connexion to the point they could be brother and sister. There is not sparkle, nothing sizzling between them.

I did not have anyone in mind before this show starts. Now I do have because of course the lead actor is not a good choice obviously. I even think now they should have switched the SML and ML actor before the shooting. He is no lead actor material. He was barely lead actor before. They took a huge risk by choosing him. The risk does not pay for me.

I can see Bai Lu having many lead roles in the future. I seriously doubt Leon Lai will have.
