A Masterpiece of Modern Romance, while being faithful to the novel!

It's been a while since I have been this invested in a Romance Drama.
Enough for me to pay for the Fast Track!

The story is very much like the story from the novel ,
I've been reading the novel side by side while watching this Drama.
While the story is simple, the way they shot and film this is unique.
And the two leading male and female lead are amazing. They both look really good together.
Their chemistry was amazing in this drama. Dilraba Dilmurat and Yang Yang well done!
What I liked the most about this romance was the portraying of real life problems
that people actually face, found in real relationships.
And how both leads dealt with their insecurities, particularly the male lead.

I really like the gaming aspects at the beggining, it made me want to play that mobile game.
But sadly its only available in china. As a fan of games like LoL,
I really liked the way they filmed the gaming aspects.
And then in the second half of the story the romantic moments really started.
The romantic moments were really heartwarming and passionate.
Dilraba once again improves on her acting capabilities. And I liked Yang Yang.
This was my first time seeing him on screen.
And he did really well, and he was very comfortable with Dilraba.
So much so, that I would like to see them dating in real life!

The OST was excellent too. I really liked the opening song (Fireworks And Stars)
and also Born To Be An Eagle is fire! Fall In Love is also pretty catchy!
This Drama is definitely rewatchable, so many good and sweet moments to rewatch.
Even the gaming moments! One day if I'm able to, I will rewatch this again!

Overall this is what I consider an Excellent romance, with no useless tropes in placed. Just for the sake of it!
They followed the novel beautifully and brought those characters to life.
They also included extra scenes from Yu Tu's profession.
They ended the Drama like in the novel, which displays more themes than just romance!

I highly recommend this Romantic Drama! This is a Romantic Classic!

A Bright Historical! Instant classic

This is an Incredible Historical C-Drama!
The pacing of the story is indeed slow, because there is the
introduction period to the world and the characters.
The story is not fully focused on Ming Lan only also,
other characters are given the necessary screen times.
The first 30 episodes were slow, so if you find it difficult watch it in 1.5x speed etc. That helped me.
73 Episodes are definitely tough to watch all at once.

The story is about Ming Lan and the characters around her, how they affect each other.
There is also some elements of politics and palace intrigue in this Drama.
Both the leads did a fantastic job. I was happy to find they were married in real life.
I really liked the way Ming Lan and Gu Tingye both developed.
From being distant to being a loving happy couple.
Both leads had a really good chemistry. And were a great match!
How Gu Tingye was patient and loyal to Ming Lang.
How Ming Lan was strong, sensible and observent of people and events.
They worked on their trust and fought for each other and their values.
They both became a intimidating team together.

The acting was great by everyone. I also liked the villians roles.
They acted well enough to sympathise and be irritated with them.
The music is Great! The ending song is good.
But what is more amazing is the instrumental OST this drama has.
From the great opening one and the themes played throughout the drama.
Listen to the Instrumental playlist!

Overall this is an Incredible Chinese Historical
With memorable characters and a bright plot.
That teaches about the importance of family and forgiveness!

The ONE Chinese Drama, Everybody should watch! Instant classic! Masterpiece!

This is MY FAVOURITE ASIAN DRAMA SO FAR!
This is one of the Best Chinese Dramas ever produced. A MASTERPIECE!!

A story about revealing the truth. About Revenge, yet it's much more than that.
The Main Male Lead is one of the smartest written characters ever.
The story is Excellent. It's about a quest to make things right. (Justice)
That is the goal of the main Character, Mei Chang Su.

This story brought me to tears, tears were shed for the romance moments,
the bromance between Mei Chang Su and Prince Jing.
Even shed tears for Prince Yu and Emperor.
I loved all these characters, like they were real!
The Characters were very much alive, and they had reasons for their actions good and bad.
Also the characters motives was very reasonable, with a lot of depth.
Most Characters had Depth and were smart. The Martial arts scenes was amazing too.

All the Actors were amazing and really did a great job.
Especially Hugh Hu, Tamia Liu, Wank Kai, Victor Huang, Ding Yong Dai and Leo Wu.
The Music was amazing in this show, I loved the main instrumental theme.
A theme that perfectly fits this Drama.

I have already watched this again. So definitely want to rewatch this one in the future.
Overall one of the best and most moving stories I have seen and experienced.
This just shows, how incredible Chinese Dramas can Be!

STILL THE GREATEST CHINESE DRAMA EVER, In my eyes!

Amazing C-Drama! Instant classic Xianxia!

This Drama has such a fantastic story.
I thought it would follow more like AOL or EL. But this one was so unique.
The story flowed really well, some people might not like the last 15 episodes.
But it makes sense to me why the main leads does what they do.
I never seen such a drama where the main guy suffers a lot though.
Yet the ending was soo SATISFACTORY, so glad it was!
There are misunderstandings in this drama. But personally for me it wasn't that irritating.
And it made sense, because of the story and the characters personalities.

The acting was really good, loved the main leads. The male lead was so loyal, and the female lead became much
stronger in her character which was great. The side actors also did a very good job. Really liked Teng She and WZQ.

THE MUSIC was awesome. Thousand Years of Love is my favourite one. So Beautiful!
I cant get over that song now! I would definitely rewatch the best moments!

Now go and watch this one! It's the best Xianxia drama I have seen to date!
Because the ending is so satisfying! And the drama concluded wonderfully!

I still Don't Understand whats so SPECIAL about this K-Drama!

How can this Drama be a masterpiece?
There are so many problems in the story.
For instance how is it that Ji Ahn is able to break the law and get away with it? How is it that she is easily forgiven by everyone for invading her co-worker's (male lead's) private life. Through wiretapping and stalking. Stalking and invading a person's privacy like that is not okay. So many people claim this to be a realistic Drama. Far from reality!

Imagine if the roles were reversed, and Dong Hoon is the one stalking Ji Ahn and wiretapping all her conversations with her husband for example. Isn't that creepy? What happend to double standards?
Also let's not overlook how Ji Ahn is constantly being beaten up by Kwan Ii, and no one else seems to notice and do anything about it.

It's really irritating when this drama focuses so much on this depressive aspect! There's no real end goal towards the end of the story. Like goals to achieve for the main leads.

And the brothers are not interesting at all, they are drunken bums who adds very little to the story, just comical. While the Drama is pretty dark itself, and a lot of the time the characters are like depressed. And basically stuck in their situations. The pacing and story is really boring, at least include something interesting about the brothers.
I appalud them for not going the romantic way, meaning Ji Ahn and Dong Hoon were not ending up together.

Also Ji Ahn should have at least seen a psychiatrist at this point! Instead of taking all that abuse and hardships. She could have done something earlier! But all she does is cry half the time on the show, there is no real growth with her till like the last episode when we see her after the time skip.

Well this Drama is definitely not for me! Waste of Time!

Like the edge of a Bus seat! Thrilling.

This is how you do a sci-fi, time-resetting and thrilling story.
And make that into a Brilliant Drama. Like this one!
There is a story to tell here, and it may be repeating at times.
But there are differences in each reset. The story can be predictable at times
and sometimes you will be shocked indeed. Like I was!

The actors in this drama, did a FANTASTIC JOB! The main leads
were the pillars of this Drama. They had nice chemistry also.
The supporting actors and actresses were also fantastic.
Especially Liu Dan and Liu Yi Jun.
The side characters were well fleshed out and were given
the necessary screen time and attention.

The Music was good, but could have been better.
The ending is also satisfying and not draggy .
Over all this is strongly recommended from me!

An Incredible Adaptation!

I initially wanted to watch this show because of Leo Wu, who was in Nirvana In Fire as Fei Liu.
Yet this drama exceeded my expectations. It was a slow start, but once the story gets moving it becomes interesting.

Leo Wu had grown up to be a strong, good looking guy. I almost didnt recognise him lol
I have seen Dilraba from Eternal Love before, but i didnt like her on that.
But this drama changed that completely. Dilraba was absolutely amazing in this drama.
Her beauty and capability of an actress was better displayed.

This story is adopted from a Manhua, which I went to check after finishing this show. Sadly the Manhua has not been completed yet due to some reason. The characters are based from real hitorical figures, such as the emperor of Taizong.
The stroy was unique and there were similar elements from other dramas like this.
But this was executed very well, with good pacing. Backstory of characters and well develeoped characters.
I really liked how some characters underwent a redemption arc, and proved to be not as you once expected them to be.
The characters grew through out their journeys, the reason I liked this show the most was due to the characters and their
life experiences have changed them for the better. (which were nice life lessons for the viewers)
I really liked how Li Change Ge was strong and independent! She was smart and was a good strategist.
The female characters can be really cool in this Drama. Certain Dramas I watched have been ruined for me
due to weak female leads, I was happy that it was not the case with this story!

The OST in this Drama is AMAZING! From the epic opening to that Beautiful ending song Cocoo sang by Zhou Shen.
And also the OST from Zhao Lu Si. That was really fitting during most scenes.

In conclusion the Romance was great, I loved the secondry couple just as much as main couple.
I liked the Third couple as well. I liked the acting of most actors and actresses. Loved the acting of the 2 main leads!
The action was epic, the costumes and sets was great. Very nice scenery and Cinematography.

The nitpicks for me was, while I liked the Manhua moments for certain parts. I felt like it was overused in certain scenes.
And that is why I can't give this drama a 10. And I felt that the ending could have been more satisfactory and fleshed out better.
Regardless of that, it was an awesome journey. I plan to rewatch this sometime in the future!

The only Drama that literally made me cry like a little girl

This is the best heartbreaking drama I have ever seen, but it's an inspiration too.
Which is why, its my favourite heartbreaking Drama of all time!

This literally made me shed tears non-stop, As a man... I can't even explain it!
But tears were made, and I did try holding them back to the best of my ability.
The story is based on a True Story of a girl named Aya Kita whom wrote
a diary of her struggles with her disease. This is a special story.
It made me realise about being grateful for this human life.
There are others less fortunate than us, we shouldnt't take this for granted.
And we should help those who are less fortunate and be compassionate.

The OST is so beautiful, especially the song March 9th/Sangatsu Kokonoka.
I simply adore this song!

*Hitomi wo tojireba anata ga (If I close my eyes)
Mabuta no ura ni iru koto de (You're behind my eyelids)
Dore hodo tsuyoku nareta deshou (How strong has that made me?)
Anata ni toote watashi mo sou de aritai (I hope I'm the same for you)

The rewatch value is low, like others have mentioned.
It's tough to go through this again.
But it's a beautiful story that must be watched at least once.

This is a must watch for anyone interested in J-Dramas.

The angst of love!

That was a long ride. My first Chinese Drama and first Xianxia one too.
And I loved the main leads.
The story is good with many layers, and plot twists.
But there are issues in this story.

I did get surpised in one scene of betrayal.
The story may break your heart many times, and this drama has those misunderstandings and angst.
I Loved the fantasy elements displayed and the CGI was good for what it was.

The ML and FL, had so much passion and the love was displayed really well by them.
I Liked the side characters too, the brother was very good in his role.
He really made me irritated with him!
All the main characters had depth and nice charcter arcs.
Especially the female lead.

The music was great, definitely loved it and it's really fitting.
Will rewatch this, once I have the time to. 63 episodes is long.
I was really invested in the story and characters.
I recommend this one to everyone, who can handle a love triangle and misunderstandings!
The love trangle was not to my liking though.
And the ending could have been much more satisfying.

So over all a very good Xianxia drama, wonderfully directed and acted this one.
With many sweet/bitter moments, a couple of things would have made it better !

Stupidly Overcomplicated! Disappointing!

This Drama started off with a BANG!
I really liked the first episode, but then what did we get halfway into the Drama?
Just overcomplicated and uneccesary plot points. Filled with too many characters and
many cat and mouse chasing moments!

They just made twists to create confusion.
The story does have plot holes also.
And I did not like the sci-fi elements of the Brain Transplant!
They could have scratched that, and just made JBR lose his memory.
Because in the end, he still was a monster!

{{SPOILERS}}
What were the writers thinking? They made JBR kill his own Father?
((On episode 20, JBR was almost going to kill Choi young Shin..
And then he tells her, that he is no longer capable of killing someone!
But what happend in the end? He murdered his own Father!
That completely ruined everything for me! As he was redeeming his actions before.
Only to turn a complete 180 anyway? What did I just watch?

Even though the father is a monster, that is not justifiable.
And was not necessary at all, that actually ruined JBR turning more humane after the surgery.
So only to stay a monster even till the end?

The acting was good by Lee Seung Gi. And so was Lee Hee Joon.
And there were stupid characters in this drama.
The music was alright for a crime drama.

I would never rewatch this drama! After going through that bothersome second half of the drama.
Yet this Drama is not a complete waste of time. I liked the first 8 episodes. After that I started fast forwarding!
As the Drama went downhill. Becoming a disappointment.

If this is what happens, they could have made this straightforward .
I guess the saying "Keeping it simple and focusing on what matters."
Describes this entire Drama!
I will be dubious of Crime K-Dramas going foward now!

An Incredible Journey, on 'where there's a will there's a way!'

An Incredible Journey with schemes and sword fighting action.
If this is what you are looking for.
Then By all means start watching this ASAP
and go on this Incredible Journey.

The story is unique, the martial arts are unique and so are the characters.
While the Story can be viewed like it's similair to Joy of Life in a way.
It's not that similar. This is it's own show.
With a Different story line. The story is about a man Named Xu Fen Niam
who is the son of a Lord. And how he finds his reasons
to fight for what's important to him. There are lot of world building done
in the first season, and the plot moves pretty quickly.
So it's really engaging from the start, to middle and even till end.
So it's great to know the story is captivating from start to end.

The acting is excellent. Especially by Zhang Ruo Yan, the main lead.
I also really liked Lu Jun and Teresa Li. They both did great.
As well as all the supporting actors. WELL DONE!
There are familiar faces from Joy of Life, which I liked to see.
The action scenes were good and decent at times.
yet I was indeed entertained by them.
And the schemes and plot twists were AMAZING!
At times I was captivated by realising what I thought was going to happend
actually didn't. And what I never thought of had occured.

The music is great, but it could have been more memorable for sure.
I really liked the interactions of the characters. Especially the Xu family
interactions which was comical and interesting. Yeah there are comedic moments
so expect to giggle or laugh. I also liked the slight romance, with the 2 leads.

Over all this is An Incredible Drama,
I need Season 2 ASAP.
So I strongly recommend you to watch this.
ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOVED JOY OF LIFE AND NIF!!

Best Body Swapping Rom-Com so far!

The body swapping trope can be hit or a miss, and this was an absolute HIT!
When I first watched this Drama, I didn't have high expectations.
But this Drama was amazingly well produced. The comedy, chemistry, romance and acting all excellent.

The story was nicely constructed, and written. Except for the last 10 minutes. I am not that bummed by it, but it could have been better for sure. I would have given this a rating of 10, if it was a more satisfying conclusion. And the story sort of got draggy at the last 8 episodes. But it's to expected with 26 episodes.

I liked how they used music and sound effects to brilliantly potray the comedic scences.
And the OST from this show was amazing. I See You (Qian Xi) and Crush On You (Lu Siying) are the most memorable.
Those 2 songs will be stuck on my head for a few days!
The acting by the two leads was amazing, it was really believable that the body swap has occured with the characters.
They both potrayed the characters very well. I am now a fan of both the leads.
I hope they both work on another drama together.

Overall I really enjoyed this Rom-Com.
I had good laughs watching this, it was really addicitve from like first episode to about episode 16.

I highly recommend to watch this gem of 2021. I am really glad I watched this Drama!
I plan to rewatch this sometime again.

A Time Travelling Romantic Masterpiece

The time Travel element in this Drama is handled really well.
The complex plot and pace of the Drama flowed really well.
The stroy was interesting from start to finish and kept me well engaged.

All the actors did a a really great job, especially the 3 main leads.
Alice and Greg had really nice chemistry.
The music was really good, I really liked the main song by Shi Shi. It's been on my head these days.
The Rewatch value is not that high, because I already know the mysteries,
but I might find signs I haven't noticed before. So I will be rewatching this again.

Overall it's one of my favourite dramas, and my favourite Taiwanese one.
It's probably the best Taiwanese Drama out right now!

A Great Xianxia, the drama that really took off the Xianxia trend!

One of the most memorable Xianxia dramas out there!

The story was simple and intriguing.
The first 10 episode were slow, and tiresome to get through. But this is the introduction to the
main FL BQ and her mentor. Which is important to the story.
During the mortal arc, is when things start developing between the 2 Leads.

And at episode 30, that was one of the best episodes.
When the viewer is fully invested into the story and the story is peaking.
The side stories was alright and to me it became tiring at times.
Yes there was nice moments with Dong Hua and Fengjiu!
But they could have made that story enitrely seperate, and they ended up doing that.
So I feel like, it was pointless to focus too much on Donghua and Fengjiu.
Because those scenes could have been invested into BQ and YH's storyline.

The villians was good, they were good with bringing out what was intended.
The actors did a wonderful job, the main leads were lovely.

The OST was really good, especially the ending song!
The rewatch value is low, because it's lengthy and this show can be draggy.
Like many others! So if it was tighter, it would have been great!
I do admit the ending could have been much more satisfying, if it was longer.

Yet overall this is a Great Chinese Drama
with couple of problems in the story!

A K-Drama with the best OST

I loved this drama, Best K-Drama of 2017!

At first I thought the story was nothing special, but it was amazing after the drama started picking up.
The story is original and set in the 1930's. The sets and costumes are amazing. Very well done!
The story that was set in the past was more interesting with the action and everything, but the present was also mysterious. The going back and forth between past and present was very well done.
The ending of the drama was concluded with satisfaction and many emotions I experienced.

The actors did an amazing job. The Male Lead and Female lead fit in their roles and gave a spectacular performance. The third male lead was great! The bromance was Amazing between Han Se Joon and Yoo Jin Oh. The romance was also Great.

The OST makes this drama even better, the song Come With Me is a Masterpiece. I loved it when it came on the Drama. Probably my favourite song out of all the K-Drama OST. Also Satellite and Time Walk is Superb, the other ones are great too.
I love that the songs are in English, makes it amazing.

This Drama is one of a kind, as I am having withdrawal feeling right now.
I will definitely re watch this drama in the future.
