A little weird tone shift around the last part but overall pretty good

The anime/mange are infinitely better.

Not a fan of either "The Penthouse: War in Life" or "The Last Empress", hopefully this one is better and without melo :/

After reading the synopsis I was expecting an even darker twist especially since the entire movie was going in an unstoppable downward spiral

The camera tilts and shoot weird angles and people call the cinematography amazing. They through a lot of these pre made flashy filters every other scene. This is not a good cinematography. It feels like the type of edit you would see in a YouTube video like an AMV or MV.
Also, intolerable excessive use of background music.
This screenwriter/director is just not good even with her previous work 'Drowning Love' same style.
