Looks to me as though Uncle Zheng had been lined up as a replacement before her husband died, he was already with at the funeral and before he died. Her mother never once showed genuine love or concern for FL. The only time I saw concern from her was to her stepdaughter when Uncle Che is staying at her home and she covered the stepdaughter up. This shows she knew he attacked FL she just didn't care.
Her only concern was her wellbeing and comfort in the future and a teen daughter would be a burden to that goal.
What's the timeline here. (I've only watched 5 episodes) So flashbacks to when they graduated HS and she says she is going to Yihe, is what 5-6 years before the main college timeline of Hidden Love, which if that's the case would be 2 years before this one's present setting. Have I messed that up lol And if FL attended Yihe wouldn't that mean ML of Hidden Love also went at the same time to Yihe if She actually went.
I don't get the 7.8 rating for this show, it is minimum 9/10. Maybe because it's slow-burn, and sometimes it seems nothing happens when it is. Different tastes perhaps, although I tend to rate things similar to the average so this is an outlier.
