I think he has some resentment towards the regime in his past bc his father implied he was executed and it may have been unjust and also they were not connected enough. Since he is officially a dead man, he isn't hurting his family... assuming he didn't order his father killed.

Lol... I also think Chen Kun 10-15 years ago could have killed this role but I think Zhang Ruoyun is doing an absolutely fabulous job I wouldn't trade him for anyone!

The initial feedback in China is not that great, probably bc expectations were high. But it is all superficial criticisms like the green tone and the slo mo action scenes. One viewer upset they didn't cast Chen Kun instead.

I loved this from the start but I am a huge fan of this kind of dark comedy. It just keeps getting better although the comedy is slowly becoming less.

The storytelling as far as the mystery goes is better. Chang'an digressed too much and too often and the ending was anti-climatic due to too many twists. I don't have a good feeling about this one either for the same reason.

don't think there's english translation for the novel yet since all the sites just have the entry but no uploads.
A lot of these are adapted from web novels where you get the first few chapters for free and then once you are hooked, you pay to read by the word or something like that... Thus the incentive to write many, many, many chapters.

I don't really mind and I guess the novelist can't be accused of plagiarising himself but its not just generically similar, it is very similar in so many aspects my overwhelming impression is yups I have seen this drama before.

Maybe you should check out a few episodes of Luoyang and get an earful of the second FL in that one... It may cure you of your aversion to pouting.
