can anybody recommend any other similar drama (mystery/ thriller/ investigation), which i can watch meanwhile…
Longest Day in Chang'an was written by the same novelist and also set in Tang Dynast. You could also try Sleuth of Ming Dynasty or Ancient Detective.

So how many of us realize this drama is based off of a xuanhuan (and not wuxia) novel, so aren't expecting true…
While there are some fantasy elements my impression is that the wuxia elements are more dominant.

Besides the MC and Pushe, Old Huang has to be my favourite character so far! Every scene he's in becomes a thousand…
Sadly considering the kind of story this is, we should expect many characters surrounding Xu Fengnian to die.

I love it but not everyone is going to like the pace or the humor.
There is some but its mostly slo mo, which doesn't bother me but you may not like it. And there is quite a lot of politics.

After watching 4 episodes I decided to drop this one. An unappealing love interest can make a potentially good/great…
Oh that's a pity. I don't find her that annoying at least she is not the noisy kind of FL. I don't think romance is that prominent in the story anyway.

Well if you use RFY as the low bar then there isn't much that you should not watch.

How's this drama? Is it worth starting? I love Vengo Gao and Meng Zi Yi but don't know squat about the actual…

Good point, maybe it's not necessarily the blood itself because he saw pictures of blood in case files and didn't…
I don’t watch modern c-dramas outside of suspense I just think they are not up to scratch. And I have never been impressed by Yang Zi.

After a slow start this week, the past 2 days have been a good ride! I actually enjoyed GBZ and WSY's interactions…
Yeah hopefully we saw the last of the filler episodes.

I have been putting this on the shelf and I am always happy when I read your reviews, it is going to have to stay…
You can stop at 50 for your HEA… It doesn’t feel like 70 episodes when you are watching.

So from now on all costume dramas must make sure maids are sluts.
No, I haven’t.

Yeah just saying 4 should be ample to wrap that up.

Also a possibility. There is a lot left that hasn’t unraveled in the old case itself…

There is no doubt he saw the killer kill the cop but I can't help but think there is a lot more to XM's story than we have seen so far. I also suspect He was the one the teacher was considering marrying and that angle still hasn't played out.

1) Has the copper mystery been resolved? I think not, right? What they have uncovered so far weren't what or where…
The Longest Day in Changán director couldn't help himself he meandered off into patriotic political soliloquys and history and cultural lessons. This director also can't help himself he wanders off into exploring every corny love trope known to man from contract marriage to Pretty Woman. Same circus, different clowns.

Of course PTSD is complex but in a fictional setting, I doubt they intend to risk losing audience understanding by making it more complex or nuanced than what it is commonly understood to be, that is direct association with a traumatic event. I think that event has not been fully explained to viewers, possibly as a kid he got a lot closer to the scene of the crime and even the perpetrator than what he remembers or what he disclosed. Remember he was in shock and couldn't speak for awhile. That doesn't sound to me like someone who was hiding in the attic the whole time.
