Yeah FSG lost me the moment he told his father that his sister who helped the enemy that got half his army killed escape would make a terrific empress, one that he would support.
I was quite glad Xiyang didn’t die in the end. After her crazy metamorphosis, she became almost likeable. Loved…
Yeah all those scenes about her recovering her arm strength etc etc etc I was expecting an epic showdown where she shoots him dead in the heart. Boo!!!

Worst possible outcome for the country. But hey, who cares as long as they get to live HEA? Whatever you say about them, the Feng family is consistent in their selfishness.

I think both countries are now united which is good bc there will be peace. But putting Xiyang on the throne just bc she needs to distract herself from her grief is exactly the kind of wrong indulgence she got her whole life made her so utterly selfish and dumb. I'd have to think hard about giving her a tiny admin role at court. Ruling the country is just bat shit crazy. Not to mention she is barren so who will succeed her. The writers wrote all kinds of ridiculous twists for the sake of maximum melodrama and painted themselves into a corner. They should have just had Suige and Yixiao assume the reins as benevolent and just (though a bit reluctant) rulers. With Chengyang and Xiyang helping out in senior official roles at court so that they can escape now and then.

Exactly! I would have been more satisfied to see FYX shoot him in the heart. They way he stabbed FXY in the stomach. Its like she was marginalised at the end.
Yes FSG and FYX end up together but leaving everything to Xiyang just bc she saw the error of her ways and the end and lost a child? OMG - that's just nothing short of irresponsible. Even Chengyang is a better choice. Its just a dumb happy ending.

Well at first I found XJS extremely ruthless and vile but understandable. And very patient and calculating, willing to play a long game. But agree at the end he just became delulu and irrational. By having him stick around when he should have returned to Pingling, I guess they were trying to make him regret what he did to Yixiao and realise he didn't actually want the throne more than he wanted her after all. I found that unnecessary. I'd have rather he went down doing what he did with no regrets.
