It was actually far more complex than that. He also feared his son would overthrow him and the CP cried a lot but he also used his power/uncle's support against his father when it suited his purpose. But its terribly depressing I am not recommending it.

I tried very hard to watch Bloody Romance 5 or 6 times but never finished. I really dislike her character in this one but I am watching bc I like Taizong.

Its far from a great drama but its an ok drama to slump around in.

Even though Royal Nirvana was incredibly depressing, I still think it had some of the most romantic lines and scenes I have seen written in any drama. As much as I really, really like LYT when I am watching her, afterwards for some reason she doesn't leave a lasting impression on me.

iQiyi said second half so rest of the year but I am sure some of it will slip into next year. I hear that this year's popular content halt won't be as bad as 2019 bc there are still routine small outbreaks, they still don't mind encouraging people to stay at home. And you know every time there is an outbreak in China they forcibly quarantine entire blocks no one can enter or leave.

I think marked spoilers are fair game but I would also point out that @AnastasiaWun started a spoilers discussion thread that no one is using. While I normally avoid those discussions for obvious reasons, I know in many other dramas it has been a very popular and safe place for people who are ok with/want to talk about spoilers to go to town. I also believe she is done watching so if you have more questions or want to discuss spoilers you can try posting there. You can also PM me directly but I may not always be logged on and I am not quite at the end yet.

Rebel was put in Q2 pipeline for iQiyi so I think its gonna come very soon. And even though I feel icky about so much Republican, I PTW Sparrow during this dry spell since I always wanted to. I will send you the iQiyi pipeline for 2H on discord. My head is spinning how much stuff they are planning to air in 2H once the 100 year is over.
