Question for the Yun Xi viewers (I didn't watch it):
Is it possible that Fu Rong and Prince Su are just the reincarnations from their Yun Xi characters? Is that why there are so many shout out lines and scenes? Maybe that is why iQiyi edited out the detail in the dreams in such an odd way? To leave open the interpretation that these dreams can be either premonitions or memories of their past life?

I'm keen to know your thoughts about this trend to translate "wang" here as "duke".
Heheh thx that sounds fun... you mean I can change Duke An to Duke Dufus throughout? Unfortunately I am watching on IQ app for AppleTV so I am sure I won't be able to do that...

If I had to pick one I would go with prince but it seems duke is the translator preference. It annoyed me too so I switched the subs off....

Although the Chinese title doesn’t make a distinction they are both wang, my personal preference is to use Duke An and Prince Su. I think of it like that because after his father died and his brother was made emperor with sons of his own, Duke An is no longer in direct line to inherit the throne and should no longer be called prince. Whereas Prince Su and his brothers are. Similarly if Prince Cheng subsequently inherits the throne and has his own sons, I would change Prince Su to Duke Su although his his title in Chinese is still the same Wang. A translator will use the same title for them all because it is technically correct but an interpreter will make a distinction between the two regardless because it better conveys the meaning or circumstances.

Title The Legend of Xiao Chuo Spoiler
Are you talking about King Taiping?
He’s not exactly a bad guy either. He has that ruthlessness you need to be the ruler and that sense of entitlement... he is a bit of a sociopath.....

But he pays for it for the rest of his life with insecurity and jealousy... undoubtedly.
I hope so but somehow it’s still not enough...

It is a realistic story that follows what really happened to her. Things don't always work out the first time around, that is what a second chance is for.
