I hope I am wrong but this is going down a very frustrating path. I believe the Zheng and Cui families colluded to take down the Yan family bc the Yan family innovative designs were threatening their jewelry empires. They framed them for losing the tribute statue from the Kang stage and got them executed. Having dealt with the Cuis, YZJ is now moving against the Zhengs but bc of their stupid misunderstanding she is now working with the Zhengs against YZJ when they should be working together. Of course she will eventually switch sides but in the meantime it’s just gonna be 😤😤😤.

Yes she owns every scene. I also like her better in men's clothes. She's actually really lovely but it almost doesn't matter bc her personality is so big. She kind of reminds me of Anita Mui's baddass attitude.

Fantastic character. I am not sure what her plan is exactly but I get it, she/Cui clan is out of the game unless she can latch onto the Zhengs. I absolutely love the actress, she is doing such an amazing job playing a dark and intense female character. You almost never see that in someone her age in c-dramas. I already noticed her in a support role in The First Shot but wow, she is really good here. She has amazing screen presence and her line delivery is fantastic. IMHO she is out acting everyone in this drama. I can't wait to see her get lead roles.

I would be very skeptical. Qu Chu Xiao barely gets good roles, he is not busy and has nothing in his pipeline. It is unbelievable that he would drop out of Pearl Girl. As for Chen Feiyu passing on Love Game, that at least sounds a bit more credible.

In a battle for the throne there is no good or bad prince its just who wins and who loses. I am going to guess that the Yan family somehow ended up collateral damage in this conflict but we need to see how and why.

Yes are right it is history but for the show, their titles were changed from Prince Qin and Prince Yin to Prince Ying and Prince Tan to keep the audience guessing. Just trying to be careful not to spoil anyone.
