Most viewers don't rate until their done watching. So until the drama is done airing, the rating isn't that reflective on both MDL and Douban. I still haven't rated it yet but directionally I agree with you.

Well, no kid is ever safe in a drama. He's kind of a third wheel so she's gonna have to somehow ditch him at some point. Usually the writers like to just bump them off bc that's the easiest cleanest thing to do narratively speaking and it gets in another crying scene.

Lol, nah I don't mean it like that exactly. The heat indexes for all the platforms are actually for performance ads. So the rate that advertisers pay for ad slots is according to how "hot" the drama is. It used to be just pure view counts but bc they were cheating so much with bots, now its an algorithm that includes internet searches, weibo posts etc etc etc. But Youku has gotten flack and push back over how "easy" its algorithm is to hit 10k and that's one of a few reasons it took a quite awhile for it to get this one pass the line to air.

Sure and I am happy for PG but when most of its dramas and even dreadful stuff like TPR breaks 10k, let me just say that Youku’s heat index just makes me roll my eyes.

It’s not a bad watch to pass the time bc they got rid of most of the dislikable parts of Minglan and if you watch carefully enough you will see that the ML is actually Minglan who is the smart illegitimate child who betters himself and the FL is actually Minglan’s husband who got embroiled with a toxic and obsessive past relationship…😂😂😂. But if you skip it you didn’t miss anything either.
