Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
Remind me who Yuan Fang is again?
Yuan Fang was ordered by the emperor to investigate the Hauixi arms case. He was murdered in the capital, on the way back to report to the emperor. All his reports/evidence were missing. Even the Empress Dowager thinks Marquis Muyang did it.

Umm idk how to explain like ofcourse I am loving the drama like everything is beautiful but I am not loving bai…
Well she definitely doesn't look as young as she used to anymore. But she is still ravishingly beautiful. And she really suffered on that mountain in a way that would age anyone. It suits the role not to look as "fresh" as her little sister.

ye Ying is so cuteee but kind of childish if only she becomes a little understandle then she will be my favourite😭!!ye…
Very charming new actress - her character is immature at times for sure but in a charming way that reminds me what it was like to be young.

I’m on ep07. so everyone on Li mountain is dead right? only Yi Le survived?
I think so..... until they all pop up all at once and scare the daylights out of all of us! Or turn this into a horror story. That would be a helluva plot twist.πŸ˜…

Yeah let's see what happened - he probably did something stupid and/cowardly but he was super young I am not inclined to judge him that harshly.

I think he was her tutor and she saved herself by recalling his lessons and using them.
Yes I suspect he is among the dead on the mountain.

I think Ye Li is not as delusional as we may think regarding Lishan Academy. Yes, she is partially in denial but…
Yes, she lies so convincingly bc they are lies she wants to believe with all her heart.

I think Ye Li is not as delusional as we may think regarding Lishan Academy. Yes, she is partially in denial but…
I suspect they all died bc of a plague or some kind of disease. That broke her heart and sometimes she believes her own lies bc its easier to cope by pretending they are still alive. But she does it mainly bc the Empress Dowager and her faction do not yet yet know that they are all dead. If she knew, she would no longer need to continue to barricade the mountain with her troops. Ye Li needs to maintain this fiction, which is why she writes letters etc. Bc if the Empress Dowager finds out her grandfather and all the Lishan scholars are dead, she could and probably would just seize the throne for herself or refuse to give up her regency when the Emperor comes of age.She hasn't dared to do that bc she fears that Headmaster Xu and his students will reopen the school and reemerge from compiling texts to scathingly and openly criticise her and possibly even incite outright rebellion. Setting aside the crown prince's son in favor of her own was already highly controversial and highly contestable.

11 episodes in, and while things are still largely a mystery, the story has been very well written so far, particularly…
I think Ye Li is not as delusional as we may think regarding Lishan Academy. Yes, she is partially in denial but there is also method to her madness.

so ye ying is not ye li's father's daughter (πŸ™„sorry, couldn't think of another way to put it) but that leech's…
Actually I feel quite bad for Ye Ying. She didn't really want to harm her sister - both of them seem to have had some affection for each other. But maybe this will work out - Jingli now has an excuse to set her aside and she can ride off in the sunset with her bumbling assassin. Though only on the condition he changes jobs - bc I have this funny feeling this assassin thing ain't gonna work out well for him.

Not going to lie Ye Li was a little annoying in the latest episode. So she almost dies then spends several nights…
She has very strong survival instinct - there were 2 assassins after her. She needed to figure out asap whether she was in real danger from the second one.

For sure MJL has been planning to usurp the throne - or rather rightfully reclaim his throne. He is the secret…
We know that by end ep 11, Ye Li's grandfather considered delivering Jingli safely back to the capital was of paramount importance. Perhaps Ye Li is too harsh or a bit unfair in blaming him for the death of all his escorts. After all, he was barely a teenager at the time.

Woah! Who said that??? This is a free site no one should be bullied for their opinions! You should block them and/or report them. I must have missed those posts bc I have over the years blocked most of the trolls.
I think the characters in this drama are well written - even when they display "annoying tropes" their underlying motivations have depth and are understandable and are therefore not cliches. People who over-react to the superficial will miss the layers in the narrative. I think Jingli is a rather tragic though not that likeable character. He clings to Ye Li bc she is his last remaining connection to a time when he was the happy and safe heir apparent to the throne. Maybe suicidal is a tad over exaggerated on his part to try to manipulate her. But he also seems to me not to be someone that has a whole lot to live for.

Well, once upon a time he did rescue her rather flamboyantly on horseback - its the stuff that make most young…
Her solitude on that mountain must have been soul destroying.
