He said that similar to YWS, Shang Jue's assistant was poisoned. It is heavily implied that assistant may have been Yun Que. That is probably how she met YM Yue. Like Ziyu, Shang Jue did not hesitate to take the poison himself. But he tested the potential antidotes on medical mules instead of himself, which Elder Yue also offered to Ziyu.

I think Elder Yue went to the prison bc he wanted news about Yun Que. I think he helped her escape, which is why she is the only Wufeng spy who made it back out. And the flashback of her suffering the Fortnight Files pain also suggests she got back to Wufeng. After that idk what happened.

Can Yun Que still be alive?

It looks like Yun Que got out of Gong men alive and was in pain from the Fortnight Flies bc there is a flashback of her in pain with YWS and Yasi. She probably failed her mission (bc she fell in love with (then) Young Master Yue?).

Did YWS agree to complete her sister's mission in exchange for the antidote to save Yun Que? In that case, maybe she is not a Chi, she is just taking the place of the Chi that was her sister. I am starting to think this is how Yasi tricked YWS into accepting the mission to go into Gong men. This also of course means she is probably a higher level spy, it was her sister that was a Chi.

The other possibility of course is Yun Que did really die and YWS is just there to find out who in Gong men killed her. But from the flashback, I think it is more likely YM Yue helped her escape and she made it back to Wufeng alive, in which case Wufeng killed her or she is still alive. Bc we learned tonight that the Fortnight Flies won't really kill her.

There is lots to digest from tonight's episodes. Finally we have some good plot movement. I still don't know how everything fits together but focusing specifically on YWS:

I posted a long time ago that Wufeng probably came out of Gong men and has something to do with the missing Feng elder. So there is shared knowledge. The Fortnight Flies is not a poison. At Gong men it was a tonic to enhance inner strength known as the Heart Devouring Moon, which makes you feel like shit but once you get pass it you survive. Wufeng re-branded it as Fortnight Flies and used it as a means to control their reluctant recruits. So it was all a fraud from the get go. There is no cure bc it's not a poison, which was the key to the 2nd trial But during Lunar eclipses it makes the person who takes it completely defenceless for 4 hours. It explains also why Wuji never needed it (if she took it) - she figured out long ago it won't kill her.

I think Elder Yue learned the claw move from Wufeng. People keep saying he was from Wufeng but if you think he loved Yun Que, how could he? She was working for Wufeng under duress. She was clearly SJ's assistant during his trials and that is how he met and fell for her.

If you believe Elder Yue loved Yun Que, you can't believe he is Wufeng. Bc it is because of Wufeng that she is dead. He must loath Wufeng to the bone marrow.

I think it's a grift to lure Wufeng into thinking Gong family is vulnerable. And the only one not in on it is Ziyu. Just like when they were trapping the bride. The whole family is in the know except him. The Empty City Ruse is how Zhuge Liang tricked Sima Yi during 3 Kingdoms period. It is a classic of the 36 Stratagems of War, used in many dramas. Its just a crazy thought I have after tonight's episodes. I am still thinking about it.

Yeah Elder Yue is clearly devastated. And he knows the Wufeng spies have no free will.

I don't think Elder Yue is a Wufeng spy.

I am beginning to think no one died. This is just starting to look a lot like Zhuge Liang's 空城计 Empty City Ruse to me.

SJ went through the exact same trial. Wufeng grew out of Gong men so they both know that medication.

Well the Gongs have home court advantage so it should stall Wufeng for a bit. But yeah, they need to stop infighting bc at one point Wufeng will gain ground.

Yes, I have been watching this all along as YWS as the lead. It's just she is low key and secretive so she hides in plain sight, even from us, the viewers.

If I were GSJ I wouldn't want to be SW. It's boring as hell, trapped in that valley all day keeping the peace between the 4 irascible lines of the Gong family. He has the best life of all of the line masters.
