Yeah as opposed to being bullied for just having an opinion. This may not be the best drama out there but this thread is really great and lets try to keep it that way.

I think it was well foreshadowed there would be issues with this drama. Nonetheless I am also quite disappointed. But I think the actors all did their best and I got big laughs out of making fun of the many tropes and flaws. Its not the worst ever its just sad bc it could have been A LOT better. But no need to pick on the actors.

FJ's scheming was underway from the time he went to "suppress" the bandits who were really his insurgents. He was gonna make a move on dad's birthday no matter what. If they lingered in Dadong where they would be arrested and wrongly accused of murdering the emperor, FJ wins. The end.

Why? The emperor is dead he is not coming back no matter what they do and the crown prince is a putz. They have their own priorities and no bone in that fight. Besides, Dadong is toast anyway. I don't see either of them as saints or out to save the world, much less Dadong which is a lost cause. Trying to figure out what happened takes time when they got other shit to deal with. So they should stay to protect a weakling crown prince and let FJ take over Yongzhou? That is a plot that would make no sense whatsoever.

Yeah but she died when he was so young. And it is not like they cared that much to help him when he was orphaned and abandoned. I think HFX is world wise enough to know you cannot shore up a ruler that cannot hold on to the throne. If only my poor Zhousheng Chen knew that.

Actually it is not a hard and fast rule, just "guidance". Because the govt cracked down on internet since last July, the productions themselves self edit to try to pass censorship more easily/quickly. But if the regulatory environment relaxes (like now bc govt is fighting covid) they can try to sneak by with a couple extra episodes.

To be fair, both BFX and HFX think that war is inevitable. This comes up many times. They are too practical to care about an imperial family that cannot hold on to power. So to me its not a plot hole. In fact, from the chess game with HC, Lanxi is very clear about how the divided states must unite under an able rule, one that cares about the common people. He obviously does not think the Dadong family have that ability.

As I think I commented close to the beginning, I am all good if FLX wins the girl and HC wins the world. They are their best selves as BFHX just wandering jianghu and eating themselves to oblivion. Why turn into their parents and spawn progeny that will kill each other over a throne?

IMHO he stole the show.

Well considering it took him pretty much 34 episodes to just win Yongzhou, I don't have high hopes for his ability to win the world in remaining 6...
