Bai Lu is also a fantastic actress, one I like a lot. But I wouldn't think she matches Yang Yang the way. Lusi…
It basically means the look of a husband and wife, just like they fit together. For old couples, people say they grow to look more and more like each other

I know what you mean. I would actually like a drama recommendation from anyone of what I can watch that is good…
Can fight: Young Bloods, Song of Glory, Under the Power, The Blue Whisper, Love in Between and of course Princess Agents is the ultimate but its a cliff hanger
Can't really fight: The Long Ballad, Autumn Ballad and Miss Truth

Praying for English subs, granted I've pretty much used Google translate on many of the key scenes already.
I am sure the subs will come but it may be released according to an airing schedule so it won't be that fast to get Part 2 subs... PP's recap is very detailed and should help as well.

Which one is that?
JOL 2 shooting has been delayed by Covid resurgence in China but it will still happen. The rest lost cause I think .

I love Bian Jiang's ultimate sexy beast voice but I must admit it doesn't quite suit Yang Yang.
He has a great voice but if he is playing someone very young his voice is too mature.

Lol... according to Lusi, he is the best kisser among the actors she has worked with. I kind of hope someone asks her that again after WRTW but I think the kiss scenes from Love of Thousand Years were much more "real" than what we have seen here so far. Honestly if I were an actress I would definitely kiss Zheng Yecheng for real too.

I was so looking forward to how the drama will execute that scene because the novel described so well how broken…
A drama can be good and enjoyable but still have many flaws. I think it is quite clear this is one of those. At least from my POV.

All very interesting color. Sounds like these relate to the coming episodes. I will observe that it is true that it is rather unbelievable how conflict free BFX and HFX relationship is considering they are from different kingdoms. I am not looking for angst for the sake of angst but to date, their relationship is on the side of too good to be true.

Ye Hua voiced by Bian Jiang is the ultimate c-drama sexy beast IMHO and those scenes and that screen couple was really smoking hot. But even though HFX and BFX have great chemistry it doesn't come off as intensely passionate (and it doesn't have to for it to work).

ZLS acting pretty up to standard in WRTW. But i cant help thinking BaiLu will portray a more suitable BFX.
Bai Lu is also a fantastic actress, one I like a lot. But I wouldn't think she matches Yang Yang the way. Lusi does. Lusi and Yang Yang have 夫妻相/fū qī xiàng, it is obvious from their face shape and their sharp side profile that just makes them look so fitting together.

Unfortunately I agree with you. For the first time I feel inconsequential! LOL!I believe this is unusual for You…
No there seems to be this massive misunderstanding. Youku does not make dramas just like Netflix doesn’t either. They are distribution companies. Studios like Colombia Pictures, Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures etc make and own the IP. The Chinese studios are Huace/Croton, Huayi Brothers, Wanda Pictures, Daylight Entertainment etc. Tencent owns two studios Tencent Penguin Pictures and New Classics Media. Tencent Penguin Pictures made WRTW but Tencent bought rights to TLB from Huace. Youku’s parent owns Alibaba Pictures which is a movie studio. Youku did not buy the overseas rights for TBW so it’s not their drama to market and promote outside of China. It’s just like Netflix did not buy TLB rights in the UK.

Aggggghhhhh I've been psyching myself up thinking we might get subs on May 18th. June 10th is a whole more month!!!…
It’s possible but they may not want to air it ahead of the Thai broadcast. May 18 must be another fake news date it’s not officially announced anywhere as such.

Actually how come there are only 40 eps.. there should be atleast 50 😭😭
Yeah but Rebirth for you simply cut it into 50+ min episodes and squeezed it all in. There are ways around it if they mean to show it all, esp since this is not a TV drama where the time slot is fixed. I think some of the footage was incomplete is the real reason.

Did you check WeTV or Tencent Video? TLB is not on Netflix in my region but it is on WeTV. Broadcast rights are sold by region and Tencent bought the rights in many regions for TLB.

Youku only acquired China rights, they did not acquire overseas broadcast rights for TBW. The overseas rights and in fact the entire IP belongs to Huace/Croton Media, which is a production studio that also btw owns the IP to TLB, WOH etc. Huace's revenues fell -54% in Q4 21 and another -66% in Q1 22. Judging from how dreadfully low their revenues in Q1 was, Youku did not pay much at all for TBW China rights and Huace mentioned being pressured by falling selling prices for dramas. My guess is they are really losing too much money and are still trying to sell the rights to more broadcasters instead of just dropping it for low subscription fees. If you really want to watch it, make sure to put in a title request with Netflix, Viki, Disney etc and hope that one of those platforms buy rights from Huace/Croton. Youku is not a production studio. They just buy broadcast rights for dramas, they don't make them. Dilraba is managed by JayWalk Studio, owned by Yang Mi and I think H&R Century another production studio that is not involved with TBW but is making Anle has some stake in JayWalk. Youku has zero stakes in any of this. Managing artists directly considering the wide use of Yin Yang contracts is a very risky business that big platforms like Youku, Tencent etc all try to stay far away from. They can get in super deep trouble with the government if anything goes awry. They rather just buy rights or licenses to the IP, not own it directly.
