it's not just MDL..even DOUBAN is heavily infected.. and I've seen MDL scores increase towards the end after many people binge-watch towards the end/ people wait till the ending to decide on final score (last year was full of superb dramas with bad endings).. (even I had rated GOTD 8.5 after initial episode..and was thinking of increasing scores after seeing how the ending happens..it was ep 31 which decided it as a 10/10 drama for me) hopefully the scores will increase soon

watch it till ep 4 then decide..most of c-dramas I usually watch till episode 4 before deciding to continue/not as things start getting interesting/going downhill from there GOTD is well worth watching in my opinion

I am guessing it is the emperor..his jealousy abt XQA and the Loong choosing XQA (it only chooses someone royal), plus his convo with the statue during the Dafeng ceremony..something seems off with the Emperor
They were very smart and cool, but sometimes they were borderline scary at how dispassionate they seemed about…
its their job right..they meet really hard-core criminals who outwardly appear charming at times..that was the aspect I liked too..they were logical and acted on evidence than emotions (except the junior who eventually matured)

currently I am watching GOTD..it's awesome and worth watching..comedy,action, romance (very less of this but all moments totally worth it), mystery, it has it all haven't watched other airing dramas so can't comment

you are mis-interpreting the scene.. It wasn't about not marrying/not falling in love.. It is about FREEDOM TO CHOOSE whoever one wants to marry and have a life with.. As princess she doesn't have a say in her marriage and also as it is older times women couldn't pursue careers..and she yearns for freedom to be herself.

I thought her character was naive and childish too..episode 20 & 21 show her in a more grown up and sensible way.. if it's only about FL I would suggest stick to the drama

very well said and need to be read and understood by many.. I can see many comments where people who didn't like Lin An's character being attacked for no reason.. the character has been portrayed spoiled and childish so far causing trouble to ML..hope they'll redeem her character or she grows-up
