I am curious about Zhang Wu's character...he stole the jade from Cui family and was part of their downfall..he also wanted the Cui family to be uprooted..he has enimity with Zhang family as well...is he like a hidden person plotting both families downfall too or he had some grudges and is now in love with Cui Shuiju and is not interested in it?

I am liking his character and the actor has really portrayed him very well...I hope we can get a mini spin-off of his character in another mini drama

This is her story of independance from slave to business woman...she is bot strong physically but is intelligent and uses her wits and fiercessness to get out of helpless situations and learns street fight and business from ML ...the evolution is realistic and relatable and inspiring

It is just a delay tactic and is fast and effective measure while he excecutes his other plan

Some negative comments i am seeing I feel it is mainly because ppl are trying to view it from entertainment perspective and expecting the ML to be the saviour and the FL to be some damsel in distress types..or expecting the regular cliché scenes between the actors .. i would recommend them if they are genuinely interested in a good story to watch from a realistic real world point of view..theyll be more satisfied and inspired by the storyline..

Its story on how Danwu becomes a successful business woman from a slave girl...the slave story would obviously have moments of physical violence and struggle...can't expect the same when she has moved to become an independent business women..this will be more civilised and underhanded business tactics with more drama and manipulation and less violence

Danwu is independent and she has to run her business herself ..he does his work of stragesing, planning and his business through his network..
You are expecting him to jump in and take over her business from her?

My interpretation of this is that the villians team is at their wits end as YZJ has acted in the dark and smoothly without leaving them evidence to pin anything on him yet and he has crippled their funds and has won everytime...it seems to be their weak efforts to involve mob mentality

I dont think it is on hold..YZJ has seriouslly crippled the funds of the villian team by burning the Pearl farm, the Zheng family's eldest son also got convicted plus they now owe YZJ money for the rubies, the black bandits seem to have lost their members in the attacks in desert and in Yangzhou, their plan of killing YZJ also didnt work...they may be gathering back their strenghth and also need funds and a proper plan as YZJ did everything suddenly and smoothly and won everytime.. seems like calm before the storm

I feel this is their show of helplessness by exploiting the weak...SMZ has no relation to YZJ currently in Yangzhou (in eyes of the people) , YZJ has destroyed the Cui family and also hurt the Zhang family by destroying the tribute and also getting their eldest son convicted as a criminal...at this point they are just ysing underhanded techniques targetting SMZ who is a mere pearl diver in their eyes...
My interpretation of this repetitive mob attacks is tht the villians are at their wits end and will probably lose soon

i guess Duanwu kinda knows he is not responsible for the trading convoy's death..but considering her traumatic past she would be fearful if the answer is "yes, it was him", she wouldn't be strong enough to handle that..knowing her stubborn nature I guess she is not pursuing it because of both Faith and Fear..something common with people undergone massive repeated trauma and coping by focusing on work or other aspects of life which can be controlled
and YZJ thinks he is dying from the poison and he has the mission to avenge his family..
so I feel they have just swept the issue under the rug for the moment and focussing on their personal missions till they are strong to handle their relationships

though I want YZJ to live and reconcile with DuanWu..I don't have a problem with her choosing 2ML either, he is grounded, stable and favours her and is willing to change for her.. that pairing would be interesting too..I don't want the 2ML to go crazy/turn villian like they do in other cdramas..i hope he finds his OTP too and stays the good person he is

good stories don't need extensive promotions.. what they did is good enough for me
