Looking forward to how the show will defend not knowing what Naksu looked like. Park Dang Gu, Seo Yul, Jin Mu, even Jang Uk were there watching as Naksu’s body burns in Part 1 EP2.
I am still looking forward to the next episodes since I am still not that convinced of the explanation.
The ending clothed me with sadness. It is bittersweet.
I don’t know, maybe it’s just me that felt it that the sushi guy and Yoon Jae have romantic feelings for each other? I certainly felt that note. It was subliminal but strong. Why? I do understand that he’s the younger brother of someone who died unjustly while at the center. I reckon he fell in love with Yoon Jae (#13) on the process because of how devoted he become to the cause and also to him. When Yoon Jae died in prison, he was looking at their photo then he immediately followed him to afterlife by ingesting posion. Love and guilt are bad recipe.
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. It was dark yet it tapped into a rollercoaster of emotions. It would also question your established values, your view of justice, humanity and responsbility. The ending was realistic, I think. In real life, there are culprits who get away scot-free, law and justice need reform in their system, which is a long and bloody process.
Wasn't it revealed already? He's No. 24's younger brother
The ending scenario would likely be the judge (#11) dying (“heroic” death perhaps saving his bro detective), #13 life sentence or death row, and #12 if he is indeed charles (sushi guy) since he only “assisted” (as long he didn’t kill anyone - i strongly think he only assisted) could receive lighter punishment or parole, and will be reunited with his mom (resto ahjumma). In the end, would come full circle.

I still have my doubts. I think it’s another plot twist. I feel like #13 lied when he said that #12 is dead. I still think #12 is Charles. A swap or another deception most likely happened.
That’s what I thought too. He created boundaries and acted like a “pro”, only to eat his barf at the end, wanting to try “love” with her on the last few minutes of the drama.
Don't writers get tired of putting romance in every show ever because they fear they cannot attract the audience…
My standard for deep platonic relationship between ML and FL in a drama is with IU and Lee Sun Kyun in My Mister. I agree, it is rare but can be executed beautifully.

This! This is what I want to emphasize. I was enjoying listening and watching their mentoring scenes, the advices, and all. But when the dynamics began to shift, I cannot lie to myself. I am not comfortable with it, esp, when all throughout the show Jegal kept saying that Ga Eul was never a girl as far as he can see, and just a “kid.” I trusted those words, only to get betrayed in the end. They have more chemistry as friends (older brother) /father figure than lovers. It surely left a bad taste in the mouth.
I think it's been mentioned before that she was not meant to be queen because she was a commoner with no connections.…
Ah, yes I remember now! The Queen Dowager said that during the selection process, it was between her and Consort Hwang but the late king chose her to keep his mother’s relatives in check.

11,12,13 trio of revenge
Oh well, at least who the dead person is in the drum comes to light.
Gu Tae Man —> Dr Park —> Jegal <—Cha Gaeul <—Lee Moo Gyul <—Han Woo Yeon
But ML ended up with FL on the last 5mins despite ML calling FL a “kid” and “never a girl” all throughout the drama. Lols!
I feel bad because I enjoyed the show on its first half. Next half went downhill.
So much so for “never a woman” and a “kid” in his eyes. Yeah, Jegal! 🤡
