I think the dryness might stem from the creators relying too much on the power of the actor ship to get people invested in CharanKhanin. I like them well enough but there is something missing.

That is just your interpretation. My interpretation is that it is a bit more grey,more like dubcon with the potential to develop into downright abuse.

I have to say, I’m a big fan of stockholm syndrome storylines so I would have a field day if the writers would dare to go there fully (I don’t think they will though)

To be honest, I really don’t care whether Paytai is fully consenting or not, he is a fictional character so I’m not worried about his well being.

True, Ramil Paytai is mixing BDSM with toxic elements.Just because BDSM is not done by the book it does not mean it is not BDSM. Like there can be healthy BDSM and toxic/questionable BDSM dynamics. And also so far it is Ramil’s father beating Paytai and not Ramil himself.

On a larger scale of things Ramil amd Paytai’s thing is very tame compared to some of my other favourites like VegasPete and HannibalWill. Like there has not even been any homoerotic stabbing or non-consensual electrocution of anyone’s balls😂

Guys who like RamilPaytai but are tired of the pearl-clutching and moralizing here, I would recommend to go to tumblr. In general, people are more chill over there when it comes to darker themes ,morally grey characters , and fictional power dynamics. Sometimes all you want is toxically codependent trauma-bonded blorbos occasionally teetering on the line between romance and dubcon😌Ramil and Paytai’s relationship is far more complex than some people are giving them credit for and dynamics like theirs can be so fun to explore in fiction.

I’ll never understand people on different platforms who seem to want all characters to act like they’ve undergone 3 years of intense therapy. I know RamilPaytai is not for everyone, but it would be very unrealistic to expect these two characters who are not exactly well-adjusted to play by the healthy relationship playbook. They are not even that toxic,the writers could have gone a lot further in my opinion and I would have welcomed it haha

I know that many people have come to associate BL with fluff and cutesy scenes and liking that is fine and all, but it’s kind of disheartening to see people so pressed whenever a show goes even
a little bit in a darker direction. And don’t even get me started on those who think CharanKhanin is toxic because Khanin keeps ordering him around lol
