It seems like it and perhaps the baby was of the royal bloodline?🤔That’s what the blind shaman seemed to…
Yes, so could we say that the 8 ft creature is the person who saved this child and died to keep the secret. The behavior of the 8 ft. creature is what interests me the most as it seems when it was alive it was someone who took orders from the royals. Did this creature have do something it didn't want to do and therefore it is sad? Yeo Ri and Gang Cheol both say that spirits themselves are not bad, but are made to do bad things, so is the 8 ft. creature doing something that he doesn't want to do? When he possesses the blind shaman, he tells him that he is the one who saw him, maybe hoping that Gang Cheol, being a deity, can help him from being used for evil purposes.
The other thing I found interesting is that when the blind shaman is himself he is blind, when he is possessed he can see. So it is almost as if the blind shaman is possessed with the 8 ft. creature. The 8 ft. creature can go in out of people's bodies because they are alive. Gang Cheol can't because his body is dead.
We also have the introduction of a new royal male who could possibly take over the throne if something happened to the king and crown prince. He is innocent and pure, not like the queen dowager's son. Is he a distant relative of this vengeful spirit?
These are just my thoughts. Thanks for the discussion.

I'm just as confused as you! However, I think I understand what the spirit was saying. The royal bloodline isn't just the present king, the king's father and mother, the grandfather, etc. Remember a king might have more than one son. What happens to those other sons who are not named crown prince? They are still part of the royal bloodline, but are not really noteworthy in the archives of the royal family unless they by chance become king. Their descendants would also be considered of royal blood and have a shot at the throne if something were to happen to the present king and his descendants.
Throughout the first 9 episodes we all assumed that the attack on the village took place 13 year ago (at least I did) because that is when the king's father died when the 8 ft. creature possessed him. In episode 10 we learn that the 8 ft creature was indeed born many years before that, 100 years ago. So this grudge has been around for at least 100 years and finally the present day king is doing something about it whereas the past kings didn't.
Remember in the first episode, Yeo Ri says something to the effect, if people knew that what they do affects future generations would they act differently? All kings (past and present) have the shadows of what their predecessors did. Will the king and people learn from the past or just go about their daily lives and not change the way they think. If Gang Cheol has been wandering the earth for a pure vessel and finally found one after 87 years (Yeo Ri), what does that say about the human race? jmo
I wish people in the weak hero universe would just learn how to dial 112(THE COPS), make the call and then let…
Jun Tae went to the cops, and the cops were like we will take of it. However, did they actually take care of it? They called Na Baek Jin and he sent goons to get the paper back, so what person would trust the cops who are being paid off by the Union.
This just shows you that this problem is bigger than just the boys themselves. The issue of bullying is complacent among the parents, school staff, the cops, and the students. Until you change the mindset of the everyone. There will always be Na Baek Jin's.
I disagree. Suho does do something that makes Baek Seom change sides. Suho doesn't allow him to get revenge on…
Baek Seom (BS) is the product of his home environment, the complacency of the teachers and parents to bullying, and the students' beliefs that bullying is just a part of life. Get to the root of the problem instead of just covering up the symptoms.
BS also realized that his money would buy him power in the group he changes to. Remember everyone is afraid of Suho, including the rich kids. When BS finds a way to get rid of Suho, he becomes the leader of the group, not just a minion of Suho. The group he changes to are more like him in the long run. They are rich and able to buy people to do their dirty work. In this way Suho becomes the scapegoat for everything wrong with rich group. Suho has power, but not money. He comes from the wrong side of the tracks. The rich kids can't stand that.
#2- I never interpreted it as then thinking they were really his birth parents. With Ye Hua’s mother, there…
At the end, Bai Qian's status changes because she is married to Ye Hwa the crown prince who will become the heavenly lord when the heavenly lord dies or abdicates the throne. DD's character takes over being the fox queen.
As for her siblings, many cdramas are like that. They only write in the ones who are important to the story. I am sure they are off fighting in a war some where.
I feel sorry for Beom Seok for what he's been through his whole life but that's not an excuse for him to beat…
I disagree. Suho does do something that makes Baek Seom change sides. Suho doesn't allow him to get revenge on the bullies of his previous school. Suho calls him a pathetic loser because he switches to the other side. A true friend would have helped Baek Seom get revenge and help him not cross the line. Instead Suho holds him back.
Ask yourself, if Baek Seom would have been able to get back at the bullies from his previous school, would the scenario that played out have happened?
Been enjoying and still enjoying this show but ep 9 has been the weakest so far. not much plot was covered or…
Episode 9 is the bridge between the build up and the take down. It is the turning point of the story. We now know why the blind shaman is working with the grandfather and the left state minister. The bad guys know about the good guys and the good guys know about the bad guys. We now know the reason why the grandfather is against the present king. We have Gang Cheol realizing he loves Yeo Ri and Yeo Ri realizing that she loves Gang Cheol. Now what will the fallout be from all of this? Gang Cheol loses his powers because love makes us weak. Bibi is around to keep them all alive.
Is SBS strict with censoring kisses? It always depends on them or the director tbh. The rating when I watch it…
I have noticed that if there is any kind of romantic insinuation between the main leads then the drama is rated PG-13. This includes kissing and the thought of them sleeping together. I discovered this while watching Jewel in the Palace and Jewel in the Crown. Jewel in the Palace is rated G. It didn't have any kissing, but it did have hugging. There was also no bedroom scene. It was a wonderful drama, but I was always saying, "Just kiss her.". On the other hand, Jewel in the Crown had several kisses and there are many times where it is insinuated that the king and female lead slept together. Just my observation.
I came from tiktok for an edit that was very good, but it made me angry that in the comments they said stupid…
It wasn't just Beom Seok who put Suho in a coma. It was a combination of all the boys who beat on him after he was down and the motorcycle crash. Was Beom Seok the catalyst, yes. Let me ask you a question. Would Beom Seok have done what he did had Suho allowed him to beat up the people who had previously bullied him? Remember Beom Seok's dad wanted him to stand up and fight against people who had bullied him and literally beat him when he didn't. Suho takes this chance away from him in the karaoke bar. Suho makes the decision for him. A friend would have allowed Beom Seok to seek his revenge and help by keeping him in check. However, Suho makes the decision to not let Beom Seok seek revenge, so it is understandable why Beom Seok goes over to the other side. So one could argue was Suho really his friend?
Also, why is Si Eun the only one allowed a weapon while fighting?
I suspect grandpa and the queen's family come from different factions. if the crown prince takes over the throne…
I am not familiar with the 8 ft ghost's clothes. However, I did look up what the Qing and Joseon soldiers wore. The outfit appears to be Joseon's studded armor. Since it is red, the person wearing it must be the king's father. For me, the 8 ft. creature appears to be the king's father. It would go a long way to explain why it didn't kill the crown prince and the king immediately.
Something tells me that the grandpa is full of rage because he thought he could use his daughter as a way to control the previous king and to a certain extent must have. However, the previous king rebelled and the grandfather tried to kill the present day king, but the father saved him. In the process the mother must have died adding to the grandpa's rage. Remember the whole story is based on the concept of what you do also affects future generations. So whatever the father did is now affecting the son and the grandson who are totally innocent of the whole mess.
Since the queen dowager was married to the previous king and the other queen was killed, the queen dowager took over as queen. Yet, her son was not made king when the king died. She's full of rage because of this.
You also have the concept of the more a spirit performs evil acts, the more evil it becomes. The 8 ft. creature appears evil, but what evil act has it really performed? I believe the 8 ft. creature is trying to redeem itself for whatever happened in the past. This way it can cross over.
The 8 ft creature and Gang Cheol are a great deal alike. They are greatly misunderstood both are seeking redemption which is what the fantasy genre is all about.
Poor Gang Cheol, he admit a wrong doing he's not committed just to kept Yeori safe. I think her grand mother misunderstood…
Funny, I don't think the 8 ft creature is evil at all. First, the 8ft creature could have killed the crown prince immediately, but didn't. Why? Also, it could have killed the king immediately, but didn't. Why? In addition, the crown prince said the 8 ft. creature is sad. Why is it sad? I have never really heard of a sad evil spirit. The 8 ft. creature reminds us of the person who saved the child in the opening scenes. It wears a garment that has the silver beads sewn into it. Finally, the only person the 8 ft creature kills is the queen dowager's son. Why, because he is truly evil. For me, the 8 ft. creature is just a pawn for the mastermind to use over and over. I think it is like Gang Cheol, a very misunderstood spirit, and I do love it.
Still don't think he's the "final" boss. Definitely evil but maybe still in tandem with another
Yes, they made it pretty clear that he is the final boss or the elder that the blind shaman was talking to before the grandpa came to see the blind man shaman in episode 8. What we don't know is why is the grandpa full of rage?
I suspect grandpa and the queen's family come from different factions. if the crown prince takes over the throne…
Yes, the grandfather is the main culprit behind the 8ft. creature. I am thinking he wanted the queen dowager's son to be king instead of the present king. Now that the queen dowager's son is dead. He must have someone else in mind for the throne.
It all goes back to the beginning sequence. Why was the village being massacred and who was the child saved by the person in the red, beaded outfit? The child who saw Gang Cheol ascend.
Yes, I have suspected him since he came into the picture, Bibi confirmed it for me when he said that the man was full of rage. Now, we just need to know why he is full of rage against the king. They also confirm it when he goes to visit the blind shaman. The blind shaman also has a beef with the king, so this makes for group of villains.
Also, I don't understand why everyone thinks the 8ft spirit is the villain. The creature is clearly being used as a pawn in someone's game. In fact all the spirits in this drama are being used as someone's pawn whether they are good or bad. The spirits are not villains, just unwilling participants. The spirits don't mind being used by Yeo Ri because she does something in return for them. Only the blind shaman uses them for evil.
