First things first, I still can’t get over the fact that a robot and a human have this kind of relationship.…
Yea. :( Irene deserved so much better in life. I also don’t think that the dad knew that Irene was the one who was creating AI and when he came face to face with her, he called off finding AI completely.
I really love this insight – but I believe there's a slight ponder coming: as Gen loved Ai so much that she…
I feel like MeMind (I think that’s the company) is really pushing the envelope with original content that makes you think about, not only how it will all come together, but the implications of choices made. In each series, so far, the main character(s) always win and lose at the same time… like one thing has to be given up for the other. The writing doesn’t just wrap everything up in a nice little bow and send us on our merry little ways… no… the endings still leave us with feelings of sadness for the sacrifice of love (AI watching Gen age and die, and in LBD, the loss of the brother/best friend so that Ran and Le could survive in their universe). I love that it shows us that.

In episode 5 or 6, when they go to shut AI down and Irene comes face to face with the male client, she says “Hello Father”. Then in episode 7, we see Irene get money and is told to not interfere in her father’s new life. Therefore, the comatose girl is Irene’s half sister.

I know what you mean. Irene could never be AI no matter how much she wanted to replace her. Gen only loved AI. Maybe, and only maybe, because the AI version of Gen in my thinking was trained by Irene, maybe Irene could create her to be exactly like the real Gen… even down to personality (which was different between Irene and AI). Maybe, because of this, AI finds her “essence” of Gen again that AI Gen is exactly like real life Gen… both looks and personality. Because remember, Irene could see the real Gen through the eyes on AI. She could have easily recorded all Of those instances she watched them on camera and used that footage to help Build Gen AI. Just wishful thinking at this point. ☺️

It just hit me that the client was actually Irene’s father and the comatose girl was Irene’s half sister. He was more worried about making a robot out of his brain dead daughter than of the daughter standing right in front of him and making this robot for him. Then in the end, the robot falls in love with the Gen and not Irene…
What would have been kind of interesting is years down the road, after Gen passes away, AI is somehow rebooted after her system shutdown and one day, she randomly spots someone that looks identical to Gen. AI (missing Gen more than anything) goes on a mission to find out why this person looks so much like her person). Eventually, they come face to face with each other and are both in shock as they both resemble each other’s greatest love. Turns out Irene made another robot like AI, but made it to look like Gen (since Irene really liked Gen). After she made the Gen look alike, they both left Thailand together for the States and that’s where they spend all of Irene’s life together… Gen never knew that Irene made a robot to look and act like her. When Irene dies, the Gen lookalike comes back to Thailand and that’s where the Gen lookalike meets AI…. They realize that they were both made by Irene and that, of course, neither of them would show any bit of aging. Through the course of the series, AI and Gen lookalike fall in love (just like they did with Gen and Irene) and now they can have their “person” for forever. Just two robots in love.
Also, I love the dark ending scene. I know that AI served her purpose for Gen, but AI grew a human conscience and what felt like a human soul and heartbeat. We saw how distraught Gen was during the time that AI was gone… imagine how AI must feel when Gen has to leave her for forever… and that is the line that was never meant to be crossed.
I can’t believe that 4 Elements is almost over. We say goodbye to the beautiful air and now we visit the fire. I really hope that this amazing ensemble of actresses can someday film something else together. Perhaps a comedy since they all have impeccable comedic timing.
OMG!!! I just saw!! I’m sooooooooo excited!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Do you know if it’s going to be a season 2, or just a special episode? Either way, I’m so ready for it!!
Ling and Orm are absolutely stunning in this series. Like, even more stunning than TSOU… and I didn’t think that was possible. Even the kisses are getting better. I do miss how they devoured each other on TSOU, but I understand that LingOrm’s drama airs during the channel’s prime time hour, so a lot has to be toned down… sadly.
I agree. It’s really unnecessary to use these kinds of characters to move a plot along (unless that is something that the plot is centered on) like a true crime show or something that is already slated to be dark. But it is unnecessary in Rom-Coms. Also, why does it always have to be a man. Women are abusers too and in the LGBTQ world, many same-sex partners are abused by their previous partners, people they know, etc that are also of the same sex.
You’re right, it has become quite dark and emotional. I read somewhere that they didn’t follow the book…. Apparently the book is a complete rom com. I haven’t read it. I do wish that if a storyline has to deal with the S.A. Topic that they would deal with it w/o actually showing it because it can be really triggering for people.
Thank you for writing out this perspective. You have an excellent point. I feel like Lal is ready to give everything to wine, but wine always seems to make her second priority. I feel bad for Lal. Ep. 8 wrecked me emotionally and broke my heart for Lal. I know one things, these girls can act and they have amazing chemistry!
I’m just curious… what did you enjoy about “The Water”? My favorite Englot project personally is Petrichor.…
That makes sense. I love the 4 Elements, but sometimes I feel like they’re sooo slow with only 8 episodes… but that’s just me. Water was definitely Englot’s greatest performance to date and Charlotte did not disappoint!
