In the Novel, both Taohua and Zaiye were equally matched in wits, but here in the drama it looks like Shen Zaiye is less smart than Taohua, Idk why the screenwriter/director whichever turns the ml dumber

In the novel if I remember it correctly, she didn't trust him till 200 chapters, she was ready to leave him at any given moment, while he was left fuming that she doesn't care about him, he fell first If I remember it right, (even though I know the poisoning incident, when he poisoned her and she said that she likes him, but considering the whole novel, she just left time and time again, while he was jealous and fuming that she doesn't care much about him).

Tbh I liked the crown Prince much better in the novel, he was Gentle, like no matter what he never raised his voice at Taohua, From the first meeting till the last, she remembered his kindness to her,

Okay so I accept that they changed the whole Gambling Den Arc, where Taohua used her looks to captivate the Prince and made him lose money then being punished by Emperor. Here Taohua and Zaiye worked together to investigate the counterfeit money, and the main point suddenly gets changed, do you know that in the novel, Prince Wugou could only search for Taohua by her face (he was so captivated that he only remembered her face, and not her voice), Taohua tried to avoid him again and again, so he won't recognise her, but here in drama he knows that Gambling woman is Taohua because of her voice and even dispatched people to catch her (especially when he knows she's Shen's woman) and when she was about to get caught by the Prince's men Shen saved her (in the novel Prince Nan saved her). It feels like everything is changed except for the name of the main characters.

And what the hell is wrong with the Peach Blossom Mark on her arm, To be honest, I very much believed in the Charm/Love Bug that was planted in her by the New Empress of Zhao, but how the fuck and I supposed to believe this poison that turns a peach blossom tattoo red when it's about to act out, or when the deadline's near, what type of bluetooth technology is that?

The princes are having tea time together and even amicably talking with eachother, in the novel that Musician Prince wasn't even mentioned much.

In the Novel, Taohua's wish was to be married with proper rights and rituals and have a ceremony, but she couldn't because of Shen Zaiye (like being intimate first and then she just had to become a concubine in his household), and this wish of hers never got fulfilled, but in the drama they had a marriage ceremony twice, I genuinely didn't want this to be changed, just why.

Suddenly the Crown prince has a Aid Huaijin, in the novel it wasn't mentioned if I remember it correctly, and even his character being described as Ruthless, Pervert, cunning in the Drama, in the novel He was described as Gentle and Virtuous who indeed didn't care about the lives of common people but he wasn't like the crown Prince in the drama

Bruh why, just why, there are significant changes here, like how in the novel the principal wife is Mei Zhaoxue, the Mei family was the greatest supporter of the eldest Prince Jing, and in the novel Lady Meng was a concubine but here she's principal wife.

I've watched till ep 8 rn, and I'm sorry guys I'm comparing it with the novel when I know I shouldn't (they always change hell of the plot), so here I am,
