You can see that they have a mutual regard for each other when they are not looking directly at each other. I believe the plot is written that way as their job responsibilities and motives take top priority. We have to wait and see the direction of the plot.

Lady Wang was desperate to take her unborn child away, which was a hopeless, farfetched plan. I wonder how many children the Emperor has. His eye seems to be roving for young beauties. He must have a few dozen children, that Lady Wang did not want her child to be lost in the crowd. He doesn't grieve Prince Heng's passing, and now Prince Xin has gone on the Pipa road. I am guessing Emperor did not know he had another unborn child on the way.

Crimes get rewritten by characters, and no one is charged with a crime. Karma takes over, and exacts revenge. Talk about embellishment. Xiao, Li should become screenwriters. The Ghost Baby had a convoluted wrap up, but Consort Wei was attacked by ghost crows. Well done, Karma! Emperor is superficial to the bone. He just looked in horror at Consort's face and hands covered with some scratches. I was surprised that the crows did not attack Emperor.

The director and editor think that blurry scenes is creative filmmaking. It just makes them look like amateurs in their profession.

That relationship between Master and Li is almost like father and daughter, except in ancient times, the patriarch did not really cherish the daughter.

I love their subtle moments of admiration.

His behavior is so not surprising. From the start, his benevolence was only a smokescreen. He had me fooled.

He has empathy for the ex-palace maids who were abused, but he doesn't care about the concubines he casts aside after a one-night stand. He might think he is doing the women

If Li's father was the emperor's blood brother, why does she bear the title of county princess? They always stress "county" in her title, as if she was bestowed the honor by the emperor. The father might have been a cousin versus sibling. A son of the previous emperor? This current drama emperor is actually likeable and congenial, for once. LOL I hope he stays the same to the end. He Zhong Hua has been one of the busiest character actors. His resume is very long.

MLs with white hair have been attractive lately. I recall Cheng Yi in The Journey of Legend and Vendetta of An, and Wang Xing Yue in Unveil: Jadewind.

I was suspicious of him from the beginning, but that might be his flair... looking intimidating and haughty. After all, he is the right-hand man of Emperor. He might be trying to take down the nobles, and Princess Li's investigation may be the only way to trap them.

After I watch the daily episodes, I come to MDL, and read the daily comments. I enjoy reading the interchange, feedback and POV.

Li Pei Yi and Xiao Huai Jin have excellent teamwork. It's almost as if they have ESP skills.

I was hoping they would be freed in episode 6, but I am thinking it will happen in episode 7.

I thought that was a unique interrogation. It was a good way to clean up the Poop Collector. I don't know the correct classification of his trade. It would convince him to talk, eventually. No one had respected him enough to give him a hot bath.
