For Future Viewers My review of this drama 👇🏻Watch if you lack frustration in life ..This show has been…
A good drama to raise the blood pressure! I am relieved that the drama has ended, but I will miss Xingfu and Guan Tao. At best, Chuanjia went off to jail, but I wish we could see him behind bars.
I posted my review of Story of Xingfu, aka Dreaming Back to the Wan Dynasty. It's not very often that I feel compelled to write a review of the drama I just watched. I usually retain 20% of the drama, by the time the drama comes to an end. Story of Xingfu was different. I might remember 70% of the drama, because of the realism aspect. I am relieved that the drama has ended, but I will miss Xingfu and Guan Tao.
If you are expecting high courtroom drama and dramatics in ep 40, don't get your hopes up. All the loose ends are tied up conveniently in 40 minutes; Xingyun's resignation from Yidao, Wallflower the whistleblower, Wanjia's pollution guilty verdict, Chuanjerk's arrest, Qingzhi and Yani's wedding plans, Chaunmei's shaming, Mr Wan's resignation from the Village Guild, He Xingfu's promotion to Village Secretary. Typical time jump; this time the length is three years.
Convenient wrap up for Mr Wan, Chuanjerk, Chuanmei! At least Mr Wan showed that he had a conscience and integrity in the end. If his children possessed any integrity or conscience, they would not have fallen low. They don't even tell you how long Chuanjerk will be in prison. I was expecting him to show up, out of jail, after the time jump. LOL
I'm kinda sad it's over but I'm looking forward to Wildbloom. Another female empowering story and mr. Wan is also…
Let's hope Mr Wan's new job (...aka Liu Wei) does not include kicking people in the butt. He did this to Wallflower in ep 40. Wan never learns it is improper to kick his subordinates...unless he kicks Chuanjerk, who he never kicked. Liu Wei must be a martial artist. A senior citizen actor (...Wei is 64 years' old, btw), with the exception of Jackie Chan and Sammo Huang, might have some difficulty high-kicking. LMAO
Chuanjia remained the asshole that he is till the end
Chuanjerk's exit from the drama was glossed over. The gap between the time that Mr Wan entered the People's Court building, and later that night when Chuanjia went to Mr Wan's office, was left out of the script. We should have seen Mr Wan interrupt the court, and hand over the documents to the Judge, and the shocked reaction of the courtroom. Officer Li and his police officers carting Chuanjerk off to jail, was also omitted. Such a lowkey end to his professional and village careers, considering his devious, unscrupulous behavior throughout the drama.
I am not too clear on the Xiuyu dox angle. Are they saying that netizens will start searching for Wang Xiuyu's name online, and they will find fake Wang Xiuyu who just got promoted to head of the finance department, btw? Netizens will start speculating why there are two Wang Xiuyus from Wan Village? Karma is near, Chuanmei!
There is only one episode left. Are they going to wrap up Chuanmei and the lead poisoning plots in the final episode? There are only 45 minutes in an episode.
Thanks for your daily company, everyone.
Costume drama: Imperial Coroner
You will love the ML in both dramas.

The C-drama writers and the K-drama writers don't know how to write a good ending.
