QI Min was really the main villain, but his charm and charisma influenced the viewers. He was also non- confrontational with Marquis Wu An,. Deng Kai deserves a trophy for his acting performance. The viewers assigned the villain role to the enigmatic Wei Yan, but he was not the mastermind of the seventeen years' old tragedy. He was a strategist and authoritarian who was keeping the dynasty afloat for the last seventeen years. He had some ambition for Marquis Wu An, but they had different views and ethics. He might have regarded Xie Zheng as a godchild.

With his academic credentials, Lawrence Wang might produce dramas.

His voice is recognizable, if you are not looking at the screen.

I remember Lawrence Wang as Si Ming in Eternal Love Ten Miles Peach Blossoms. I hope it airs soon.

The thought just came to me. Wei Yan was a villain with principles. He married the woman of his subordinate to shelter her and her unborn son. It was a convenient marriage. He ignored her, but allowed her to be the mistress of the house. The fake son thought his stepfather neglected them. Wei Yan propped up the weak emperor, to keep the dynasty intact. If there was no Boa, the dynasty would have collapsed after the lunatic Qi Min ascended the throne.

Were Qi Sheng and Qi Shu, the last two known members of the royal family? Was that why Prime Minister Wei Yan was pushing for a marriage between Qi Shu and Xie Zheng? They could replace Emperor Qi Sheng.

I was wondering where all the villagers came from, since many were killed in the massacre. I didn't realize it was a dream.

Very beautiful music, but the music editor could have lowered the volume in some scenes.

Xie Wu needs a girlfriend.

It was a steamy scene, literally. If he wasn't drugged, nothing would have happened.

I was ambivalent about his character. He was a good manipulator, and he clashed with Grand Tutor Li. I wasn't sad when he left. He looked tall and handsome, nonetheless.

I finally finished the final episodes.It was not an exciting end to the drama plot. Prime Minister Wei Yan had a gentlemanly exit, and Grand Tutor Li sat quietly in the dark while his assets were confiscated. They were all talk. Wei Yan and Xie Zheng had a little sword play. It was not a duel to the death. It was like a termination of their family connection. Even the clown emperor went almost mad. Show was entertaining, overall, with a good looking cast.

I had trouble recognizing some of the guys, too. I gave up eventually.

I haven't seen a Minister of War in the court. Only Grand Tutor Li and Prime Minister Wei. Who is in control of the armies?
