Talk about plot twister. From beginning, you'll love the romance; then you are brought along a roller coaster ride through all the plots of a typical Chinese drama. You will go through love, hate, action, tears, and frustration but it's not all overboard. It definitely is entertaining. Good story. In the end I fell in love with the 2nd lead actor, Wan Si Wei. I watched it without English sub so some of the contents were lost but the overall understanding of the story is there. I am more of a Romantic Comedy type, so I could not binge on this drama; but it was worthy enough to finish it and recommend it for others to watch. Definitely a creative genuine classic Cdrama.

Careful where you watched the last few episodes.

Firstly, a warning... of course due to the fact that I've watched the entire series from improper channel, the last few episodes were voice recorded of playtime and the last few minutes of the ending was cut off. The actors are wonderful, all have great chemistry together. no annoying voices, characters, background music or endless repeated flashbacks. A sweet story made up of parts from other dramas put together. I've found similar situations and scenes that made me think I've seen the drama before but no, it's just a conglomeration of other sweet dramas. Many moments of hilarity that had my stomach straining from laughter. An enjoyable drama worthy of binging and re-watch (although I'll wait awhile.) I usually don't enjoy English songs sang by Asian artists but surprisingly, I like the opening and ending theme songs for this drama. The two main leads were such wonderful actors and I also like the cousin uncle's acting which he didn't go overboard with it. My comment on the age difference between the ML and FL... they worked it together natural that I do not notice the gap; both acted their age and their personality work together very well.

Great drama with a wonderful story. The acting is is overall great except for the annoying crying from supporting lead Song Qin. Like the fact that it is not drawn out and is kept in a pleasant concise storytelling. The happy family with a bit of straying makes this a feel good drama with not a lot of frustration and annoying moments. There is none of the typical overbearing mother, stubborn tyrant father, and overly stupid misunderstandings to drag the story out. The flow is great and the story move through fairly pleasantly making this a delightful entertainment. The humor is there at the beginning and towards the end. The costume and the set designs are beautiful.

A typical college romance entwined with table tennis competition and a crime mystery. There were some humor, cute love and frustrating female antagonizing troublemaker. The story keeps the viewer entertained, binge worthy but I would have to say that's it. It's not something I would re-watch. I was a bit disappointed with the last episode. It seemed to have lost it's momentum and wrapped up in a sweep but it's a good drama to keep you entertained. I did not like the harsh hot tempered depicted by the male lead; it didn't seem to be a charm that would keep a girl fall in love.

Initial adjustment to the characters are needed with the changes of new actors. Dylan Wang played Ning Que well with his own talents which is not the same as Arthur Chen; after a few episodes, you will learn to forget the "Arthur's" personality and accept "Dylan's." It seems the quality of directing, makeup, and cinematography were lower. Even some personalities of the actors changed even though they were the same actors. I'm surprised since the director is the same. There were too many instances where the camera just focuses on one thing when nothing is happening or else it focuses on something with no dialog such as a character walking for 30 - 40 secs of screen time which is long for the viewer to sit and watch. The last two episodes were pretty much all dialogues which can be fast forwarded to the finale and you won't miss much. Season 1 had 60 episodes which didn't feel long and Season 2 had 43 episodes which was way too long. I had fast forwarded a lot of walking scenes, senseless dialogues, and flashbacks; hoping to get to the end as soon as possible just for an ending. Similar to Season 1, this drama also ended without a cliffhanger so I can accept it as the end and not waste time for the third season. The whole drama gave me the impression that the production was short on finances so there were a lot of cuts and reductions. I should have stopped after Season 1. After Season 2, I've lost interest in wanting to read the novel.

Most of the actors did a good job. Dilraba Dilmurat and Vengo Gao did a great job with their character, the directing and cinematography were good too. I actually like the costumes better than the ones in TMOPB. The happy ending was abrupt with gaps missing connections. The story can be described as pieces of TMOPB broken apart and rearranged with Ye Hua and Bai Qian replaced with Dong Hua and Feng Jiu. The story was not creative nor original. It's like watching a drama that was plagiarized from a drama that's created from a plagiarized novel. I did some fast forwarding in different parts of the story since I know it's pretty much like watching TMOPB. The similarities between TMOPB and TLTWTPB show TangQi GongZi's talent as a writer. Not binge worthy or a rewatch quality.
I had finished watching TMOPB several times before I found out about TQGZ's plagiarism. I decided not to watch TLTWTPB for that reason. Unfortunately, I misunderstood one of the reviewer's comment that the story was true to the original novel and decided to watch the drama. In all fairness to the other talents, I finished watching the drama and gave this review.

Definitely a drama that keeps you entertained. Acting is great and not annoying or frustrating. The story is creative and has a decent plot that is not as predictable. Cute ending. It's a feel good drama all throughout the story. The actors are not famous but their talents are a pleasure to watch. There are sprinkles of humor throughout the whole drama. Although, towards the last few episodes there were a bit of flashback that I've fast forwarded. Enjoy the tidbit behind the screen at the end of each episode.

The first season didn't leave me too much impression, but the second season was entertaining. The story was good with some humor. It has some medical sleuth that keeps the audience attention. The romance is typical but does not take up the whole story. The acting is average. The female lead stands up on her own with no comparison with the first season female lead making it believable they are the same character. The male lead is natural in his acting. The negative side is the 2nd season ended with a cliffhanger that goes straight into the 3rd season which was a bit disappointing.

Great story with a decent plot and keeps the audiences' attention. There are not too annoying or frustrating (thank goodness) with a bit of humor. The main lead actor is a treat to watch; the main lead actress is also not sickly sweet. The 2nd male lead is good but I had a difficult time with the 2nd female lead although she has perfect androgynous features for the male/female role. I would like to see the role of QingChen more involved. QingChen life story and identity is interesting and could make for another romance or as 3rd couple is this drama.

Not my cup of tea.

So far, the story is choppy and slow. The male lead, a good actor, is scripted to be lifeless and thus seems to have the whole cast on monotone. I hate it when the sense of logic is missing and that is so with the female lead. The introduction of characters are a bit hard to follow because they are dropped into the scene out of nowhere. I have a hard time keeping my interest and at some points fast forward some scene to close in on the final episode. I am hoping that it will pick up some momentum soon. Disappointing since I like the male lead actor. On the brighter note, the cinematography is good and the story's core is interesting. The story starts getting interesting around episode 34 as it moves pass the monotonous hump. Though more characters are introduced, their relationships gets tied together giving each of the previous characters more personality. At this point, you will get over the stupidity of the female lead. Flash backs are a waste of my time but in this case, some of these flash backs are helpful.
FINAL REVIEW:
For starter, I am a fan of romantic comedy and this drama is melodramatic. The drama starts out interesting as anything wuxia drama does. Then it slows to monotone matching the male lead illness but brings down all the other characters to mundane. Then new characters starts dropping in out of nowhere and it made it hard to follow whose who. If you feel the same as I do and you can survive through to episode 34, the story starts to pick up but only for 10-15 episodes and then it starts to go down hill. It would have help if they had sprinkle some humor here and there to lightened up the melancholy. I hate it when the drama loses it's sense of logic and reasoning. I also hate it when they use back flashes to fill in and extend episodes. This drama has both of what I hate; although the back flashes doesn't get out of hand until the last 10 or so episodes. I was not satisfied with the 2nd female leads demise or how the 2nd lead male handled his invaded self. It was a mental and physical rape he suffered and that should have generated ravage rage but all that to stir up the audience just end with a slap on the hand. I endured the drama up to episode 53 and then started fast forwarding the rest of the episodes to get to the end just so I can have closure for the time spent on these 56 episodes. Definitely, not my cup of tea because it lacks a bit of humor to lightened up the melancholy.

The story fluctuates from boring to interesting and some stupid. Acting is mediocre . FL is high pitch annoyingly childish and the ML is forcefully low pitch with unnatural growl (fake manly). The 2nd ML is better at acting slow like a sloth but cute and the chemistry with the 2nd FL is great and humorous. I had to fast forward some to get to the ending quickly just to finish the story. If the unnecessary parts and dump slapstick are removed, the plot is very good and twists were creative. Not a rewatch or binge worthy

Waste of a good story.

Can you believe I've binged the entire drama till the last 10 minutes before fast forwarding to the end? I don't even care if they all live happily ever after or not; nor did it matter if the villains got their just deserved. As a matter of fact, they just died off the scene leaving meaningless taste of dissatisfaction. Though they tried to bring the ending to a climax by bringing the audience to an all time low first, that was at a risk of losing audiences' attention.
On the bright side, I actually enjoyed the music score more which is usually seldom. Overall, it's a good, enjoyable drama but has a disappointing ending; it's like reading a novel that has the last page missing.

The story is creatively interesting. There were parts regarding the 2nd lead love story that almost had me stop watching this drama but I fast forward those scenes instead. The main lead couple did a good job, the double gender role played by the female lead was believable. Humor is scarce but I love Mr Tong's question regarding Tong Tong's best friend's skirt; it's been something I kept asking in both Cdrama and Kdrama. Shi Ming Ze is young but he has the looks and potential for many more main lead dramas. He looks like young Lee Min Ho; beautiful eyes that kept me to this drama. The ending is a total unexpected surprise.

In comparison with the 2nd season, this last season was a bit of a disappointment. The female lead started to have the annoying personality with an irritating voice. The male lead seems to have lost his acting skills. The unrequited love of the 2nd male lead drags though half the drama; it would be fine if he was the main lead but obviously he was not and we know there is no fruition. I've fast forward quite a bit of the episodes to get to the ending. The positive side is there were some humor. The last few episodes focuses on the mysterious villain which kept the story lasting to the ending. The finale was disappointing, the ones who should be killed does not and the ones who shouldn't, does. The final ending was an interesting twist but also felt like a commercial
