Perfect combination of Politics, romance and my ever favourite trope-TIME TRAVEL

Usually I can never get myself to complete any drama with a lot of politics. But this one had me hooked from the start to the very last episode. The six month wait after it's initial declaration was absolutely worth it.

The drama focuses on Jiang Xuening, who gets a chance to REDO her mistakes while further exploring her efforts, her relationships with the various characters.

Our Queen, Bai Lu, as usual never disappoints us and gave us yet another ground breaking performance thereby showing her versatility as a scheming empress(1st life) and as Ning'er(2nd life).
As for our ML, it was his second drama I watched with him as ML- the first being My journey to you, and the contrast between the characters he played shows his versatile acting skills. It's not easy to play a grey area character like Xie Wei and now i don't think anyone could have played this role as good as Zhang Linghe. The chemistry between the leads had me squealing at all times. Xie Wei's character screams- "a hero will sacrifice u for the world but a villain would sacrifice the whole world for you." especially with his dialogue-" Neither my qin, my revenge, nothing in this world compares to her." and Zhang Linghe portrays it exceptionally well.

Zhang Zhe may be the best person but Xie Wei was the most suitable one for Ning'er.

The OSTs especially the one by Zhou Shen, had my heart from the beginning.
A mix of various genres.... I would definitely recommend this to every cdrama lover!!!!!!!
No doubt one of the best chinese dramas of 2023 !!!!!

Lee Ha Nee and comedy never disappoints!!

This is probably the best historical comedy drama I've watched till date. Usually historical dramas have a lot of politics which make it difficult for me to complete as it often gets draggy half way and then even comedy can't save it.
However this had me in fits of laughter in almost every episode. Lee Na Hee never disappoints. Although it was first drama I've watched of the ML, he played the role of a rigid officer slowly falling into love very well. All the side characters had their own roles and weren't there just for the sake of being a character.
I'm a sucker for badass FL and equally badass ML with great sword fight scenes.
Although we didn't have any kiss or anything, the chemistry between the leads and the people around them teasing them made it so adorable. Personally, I like the pining, implied romance with tension in the air kinda thing more than a kiss. It really had me squealing all the time. The blush on the faces and the hearts all around!!!!!Honestly if they our couples were any cuter I'd have a heart attack.
All in all, a perfect watch, with all my fav elements which had even my heart fluttering!!!

7 Lifetimes of interconnected love!!!

Even the drama starring my favourite actors(TTEOM) couldn't make me write a review, but for this one I just had to.
I am exceptionally picky about watching complete dramas but for this one I literally waited for 4:30(airing time in my region).

Among many things, the best thing I liked about this was that there was no unnecessary misunderstanding between ML and FL. Their relationship was transparent and the ML didn't hide anything from the FL in the name of protecting her(I srsly hate it when MLs do that to FLs). The story was connected through all the lifetimes which made me eager to watch more. The love story between the leads was simple and there were tons of funny moments. Sure there were cliché plots(the whole brother thing) but I enjoyed it nevertheless. I have seen tons of comments comparing this one to LBFAD but I haven't watched it so no comments.

Coming to the actors, this was my second Ding Yuxi drama. I had only watched romance of tiger and rose when i entered the Cdrama world and honestly it was just fine. But after after his acting in this one, I started a DYX marathon and watched all his dramas one by one(completed moonlight, romance of twin flower, reset life) and man! i became a fan of his works. His expressions and acting are brilliant and that EYE BROW RAISE that he does is just killer!!! Also I heard that he dubbed his own voice here.. Big PLUS!
Regarding Yang Chaoyue, it was my first time watching her drama so i can't compare how she did in previous dramas or anything. All I can say that she's a budding actress and sure there are places she needs improvement, but overall she did well. She played the character of Cang Hai really well. She does well playing domineering characters (Cang Hai and the princess).
The OSTs were absolutely lovely. I'm currently listening to them while writing this review!! Liu Yuning as usual does not disappoint us. Also the timing of the OSTs and the BGMs being played matched with the vibe of the ongoing scene so well that I had to go back multiple times just to listen to the BGM again and again.

All in all, from acting to plot to OST, for me this a wonderful drama, which is definitely worth watching and then rewatching!
This has successfully made a place in my personal favorite list!!!

If only MDL had a feature to rate it more than 10!!

This has to be one of the most under rated shows i've ever watched.
In all my years of watching dramas, this is the only drama I've watched first without subs and then again with subs.
I loved how they mixed all my fav genres- thriller, mystery, romance and still managed to pull it off brilliantly.
The suspense, the games they played and the chemistry between our couples was totally worth it!!!

Being a fan of Alice in Borderland, i was a very excited to watch this when i saw the summary. It was my first drama of the FL while i've watched a few dramas of the ML. Miles Wei in glasses and not being a CEO or professor was a fresh start. And as expected he didn't let us down. (Thanks to this, i started a Wei Zheming marathon after this drama).
I'm glad both our leads smart and our FL wasn't portrayed as some damsel in distress. In fact most the female characters were strong in their own sense and some had great character growth throughout the series like Qingyou, and Qing ge's character. Glad that Nian sulan didn't cause much trouble. I mean we didn't really need that trope of third parties between the leads and thankfully we didn't get it either.

The subs were totally weird(Mango Tv as usual) but thankfully i could get the sum and substance of what they wanted to say.
All in all, this is one of my fav dramas i've watched in a while. Maybe i'll rewatch it when we get viki subs.. :)
